They make the playoffs, due to the division. And lose Wildcard round the Giants.

don't see him playing to much, he WAS a great qb but age has caught up with him.  Best of luck to him!

After watching Brett Favre play every game for 17 years I can say this...never bet anything on the man...but never, ever, bet against him....you'll lose every time..he might be self centered, egotistical, and the only player who ever lost a million faithful fans..but hes also a competitive, driven individual ,who had big dreams and realized those dreams....and gained another million fans. One more thing..Ive heard Viking fans trash-talking for the first time in decades..and I can only smile...been there ...done that..for 17 gr8 seasons!!

if he does go to the Vikings, i just hope he doesn't bring a f-up'd attitude and blow the whole morale of that very young, promising team !!

Brett Favr'e is retired, get over it. He won't be back. Not in Minnesota, not anywhere. His best bet would have been to become a passing coach to still stay close to the game. But as a quarterback I can't see it, and definately not a starting quarterback. He could even become an effective sorts commentator.

well, who can say what will be. and as they say never bet against the man he will always surprise you!
I hope he will leave his ego at the door, and bring this young optimistic and yes trash talking team (have to smile about that....haven't heard that from the vikes in a long time!)
to the superbowl

I think the Vikes will be above 500 make playoffs ehhhhh on the fence on that one, BUT not solely because Favre will be on the team, Brett, why can't you just stay retarded? Oops retired???

I think the Vikings can win the Division with Favre, but I don't see them going very far in the Playoffs.

I can see it now, AP and the running game will bulldoze over people, then the magnificent Brett Farve will run a play action, drop back, close his eyes, yell "500!" like he always does and throw lucky charms raindbow to Bernard Berrian. Only to have it picked off by (Insert Defensive Back here)

I think Brett Favre needs to stay retired.  I do not think that having surgery is going to help him this season.  If he does not want to stay retired then take a year off to let his arm totally heal before coming back and then maybe he will be back to how he was when he was with the packers.

As long as he hands the ball off to Peterson without fumbling it the Vikings will win. If you want to see what can happen with a QB who only throws when necessary, see Carolina Panthers!  Close, but no cigar for the Vikes!

I think the Vikings have a better chance of at least getting to the super bowl with Brett Favre and finally winning one Super Bowl more than any other time in history.  Just because Brett stepped back and said he retired, dont ever underestimate the man!!! Age has nothing to do with his ability to play the game and as long as he is able to play, let the man do what he likes to do!!!  Go Brett!!!!

Sending Favre to Minnesota isn't that the football equivalent of being banished to Siberia?  The fat lady sang several times already Brett are you hard of hearing?

As a life long Viking Fan, I am distressed that they want Farve or Favre or however you spell it as a QB. He throws too many STUPID passes and way too many STUPID interseptions. He will KILL any chance for a Viking run at the Super Bowl. Let him die and leave him alone. Sign Steve Young if you want an over the hill QB!..........PLEASE!!!

No, if he went back to Green Bay it would be. Ever gone to Lambeau in December? Nothing like the Metrodome.

How far do I expect them to go? Down the street is about it.
People used to have respect for him when he played for green bay. Since the first retirement and all the media crap he has pulled to get attention....he destroyed his own legacy.

With Brett they will win a couple close games late because Brett know how to do that and they end up 11-5, winning the division.  They win one playoff game, but lose the next even if it is at the Metrodome.

Doubt it as I see no clear cut favorite in the NFC, lots of possibilities.

I bet the Vikings will win the NFC. The only good team left on MIN schedule is CIN. The Saints still have NE, DAL, ATL and CAR.      MIN is only 1 game behind NO and I bet their gonna caught em and to get to a Super Bowl you will have to go through MIN (very hard place to win). Plus if you look at the way their team is built, they have just what is needed to beat NO.

1. Peterson will keep Brees off the field
2. Allen will keep Brees under pressure
3. Front seven will shut down Thomas, Bush and Bell
4. Favre will manage the game with no TOs
5. Winfield will contain Colston
