The best time to truly judge a President is about 4-10 years AFTER he leaves office.  Nobody from either side of the aisle can give a legitimate rating of a President until he is out of office.

This is really unbelievable!! What a horrible way to attack our military!!! Can you believe this bum? I can't think of one other person that would even suggest something like this. Who ever heard of any military being asked to pay for their own injury care after being in a war? Obama needs a severe reality check and a trip to IMPEACHMENT CITY. That isn't the way I expect our COMMANDER AND CHIEF to treat his military personel.

I checked this out on "truth or fiction" and it is truth , but the proposal was withdrawn after Sen. Akaka , democratic chairman of the veteran affairs committee refused to let it out of the committee. The president then withdrew the plan.

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.
The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained..
"Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute...”
"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money.  With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
Any President that will ask our troops to pay their own medical after being hurt in battle for our or anyone elses freedom should be i mpeached immediately. Cause if they are over there fighting not because we asked them to,but because they love their country and fellow man.If anyone doesn't see what is happening to our great nation you should read his book and his wifes book and see the way they slander this great nation I love and support.P.S. I am, and I agree with him. I could care less how Obama is doing, I'm sure he will handle the situation to his best effort. I'm also partially biased towards him when compared to Bush. It's easy to point out any president's flaws, and every one of them have had to face it.

I do care.  But what I'm finding is this was all basically in a *speech* written by Jay Leno or David Letterman.  He may very well do what he thinks is best.  It's still OUR job as Americans to decide if that is INDEED true or not.  I'm not pointing out any flaws or taking any sides here.  I'm just finding undocumented material. And I like to check resources for myself.  I'm sorry you don't care.

UPDATE:  Further research is showing this ties to some guy named Craig Smith and published at WorldNetDaily.com in 2006 around Thanksgiving.  So who knows for sure.

Some of this stuff gets passed thru so many hands that things start going missing & it's really hard to tell what is true.  That is why i think this stuff that gets passed email to email & forwards a zillion times really needs to be checked carefully.  But it has brought up some interesting questions & discussion.  We just need to remember we're debating ideas, not the worth of each other.

Where are the Mods of this noble site - why is this mudslinging being permitted - you may speak anything you wish for your country or any of its citizens - but you cannot openly abuse someone else's sentiments for his country.

Jess - the other mods of the Q - are you listening ?

This is absolutely irresponsible, ridiculous, inappropriate, unjust, immaterial, uncalled for, irrelevant, malicious and an utterly degrading remark.  Nobody is saying anything bad about your President or your country, so it would be sagacious if the same decorum is maintained for citizens of other countries as well.

If this is a fun site - the above poll must be immediately banned and removed - it will lead to further ill-will and worse comments and arguments - this site will loose its sanctity - I want to report abuse right here and now.

Seal,

Being a honorable mod does not augur well for the sarcasm depicted in your reply.  Why is my democratic right of commenting with a free will being called a preaching like the almighty.  And why is an in appropriate word as 'stirring' being used ?  It is just as if we are being pressurized into giving comments as per your liking.  We are committing a blasphemy or a sacrilege by commenting here.  This really has been a very bad experience for me.  Never expected something like this on such a noble site.

Please advice me - as you are a mod - what I am supposed to do in such a situation.  Put yourself in my place and then give some prudent advice that will kill the snake and also not let the stick break.  Something that will ensure that nobody is hurt - NOBODY.
First of all Sadmar, there was not ONE thought of sarcasm in what I wrote to you.  NONE.  So any that you see you are misreading or putting in yourself.  I never said you couldn't speak your mind.

You came in here DEMANDING that this poll be shutdown.  Stating that great grievous harm was being done.  That is just not the case.  By the time you got here it was closing the door after the horse was already out of the barn.  If you had taken time to read all the remarks, you would see that there is no ill will here,  There is no abuse.  Any mis-statements that were made were after apologized.

I don't understand what has gotten you so upset.    If there is any sarcasm, I would say it is in your reply to me.  You seem to expect me to justify my every statement to you and that is just not going to happen.  I try to make my statements so I don't have to do that very thing.  I am not here to argue with you, nor am I here to be told what to do by you.

I am here to keep things running smoothly and the people who commented in this poll were adults & were able to do that & learn.   I must say again, that I do NOT know what has you so upset.    As for pressuring someone into giving comments of my liking, I have done NO such thing.  I do not appreciate being accused of such.  If I were not putting myself in your place, believe me I would not be taking the time to try so carefully to explain to you.

I have no malice towards anyone on the Q.  I love this site very much and have bad experiences when I commented on improving its quality.  But I have forgotten it like some bad dream.  I never want to hurt anyone even by mistake.

I read your above post and thought that it won't be apt to give it rating because it is prudent, bold and smart as well.  Please don't even think of leaving this site anytime.  I know your contributions are quite worthy.  I only request that we all members of this Noble Site right here and now promise one another never to hurt the sentiments of anyone for politics because our comments won't make any differences to any of the big people who rule countries.  I would request the mods to ensure that such polls that are suspect to have answers that will create chaos and misunderstanding, be not permitted.

This will solve this matter for ever and ensure that no one is given some rude and sarcastic comments or advices.  I pray for harmony on this site and once again request you "gayskip3girl" to not talk of taking such negative steps.  Your repentance is more than enough and there is no thing that does not have a cure.  Time heals everything.

God Bless You !

Honestly. still too early to tell. When most Presidents get in office, they tend to have to clean up from the previous administration. His actions thus far can not neccesarily  be viewed as positive or negative untill we see the ripple effect of them.

Thank you for trying to understand Sadmar.   As long as there are people, there will be discussions on the volatile subjects of religion & politics.  Not discussing these subject will not make them less volatile, just hidden.  I can not restrict the making of political polls, I can only try to be here to remind us all that we are debating subjects, not each other.  It is not an easy thing to discuss either with so many differing opinions.  But... it is important that we learn to do so, else we can never understand each other.. We just have to remember it's OK to agree to disagree.   Thanks everyone for the great job you've done!  Kudos to you all!

First of all, I took one full hour to read all the posts above, read the replies to either of them, and only then did I comment.

And your words above and the words I have used in the post to gayskipgirl will show anyone, who understand language authentically, as to who has been using hard and strong words to get their agony across.  You are justifying your statements, without taking into consideration what the person, who has had his emotions hurt, is feeling. I am sorry to say, but I feel that it is your personal contention that I am asking you to justify your every statement to me.  If you can say that u did not have any such feeling when you answered, why can't I too say the same thing for myself.  You say you are making statements that don't need justification and you are not here to argue and you are not someone who has to be told by me what to do - I totally disagree with all this.  Neither have I asked for any justification, nor am I arguing with you and nor am I telling you what you should or should not do.

You say you are here to ensure that things run smoothly, then ( this is my personal feeling) you should have stopped this mudslinging or disrespectful remarks after the very first post was passed signifying that the matter was getting bad.

My words here do not show me as being upset in any way whatsoever, but your contentions of repeatedly pointing, that you do not appreciate being accused, do so.  You are explaining to me by taking some time, I do agree, but this explanation is not something to calm down one of the fans of the Q, but to show some authority on your part, which is what is hurting me all the more.

I don't know what all this is going to lead to - but if due to any reason my account with the Q is closed, I will not repent - but I will not take things lying down after being accused for some and that too falsely.  It looks more like frustration rather than prudence.

May God ensure that all ends well and wisdom prevails.

P.S. I have no ill will, grudge or malice towards you Seal,  I have always held you in high esteem, but I request that you be a little cool - since the position you are in needs sagacity to go along-with kindness in words choosing and ensuring that even the worst of the lot are not hurt by any word that spells discomfort.  You may reply that you don't need to prove anything to me, and I too insist, you don't need to.  I just want to give some real friendly advice - interfere to pensively solve matters tactfully, not increase them indifferently.

It's been only 6 months since President Obama took office. He has done some good things and some not so good things but all in all I'd grade him a B-.   This Country got f#$ked up by the Bush Administration for 8 years and it will take some time to recover... Sorry but 6 months should not be the measuring stick.

These are the words that keep a family together.  The FanIQ site, as a whole, needs to learn to be impartial in anything and everything - but by using sweetness in dialect from any quarters.

I would like to comment on this poll after all - Give the new president some time - Rome was not built in a day !  He too is human.  It is very easy to comment about anyone, but very difficult to be in that persons' shoes to be able to do something that each and everyone will like.  Be practical - is all I would like to say to one and all.

The best time to truly judge a President is about 4-10 years AFTER he leaves office.  Nobody from either side of the aisle can give a legitimate rating of a President until he is out of office.

That doesn't change the fact that he tried.  He blamed 'bad press' for it getting stalled. Completely dismissing the shiza storm and chilling effect it had on everyone serving and everyone who had served.  To me it's unconscionable that he even suggested it to begin with. But that's just me.

I remember the gist of his words well. "They signed up for service, they volunteered, they knew getting wounded might happen. They need to take some responsibility and pay for  their care."    It had every veterans organization up in arms. And then Obama gave up on the idea & invited the heads of the Org's to a beer summit and it's died down since then.

I don't know that he made the quotes that have been attributed to him on this thread. However the fact that he considered the idea is telling enough. It was a dumb idea that has hopefully died. I believe that the proposal was a desperate scheme to save the government money in any area it could. They should probably start by not giving so much money to corporations like AIG. et al.

The Republican members of Congress ALSO started the door-to-door crap!  It's a vicious cycle ... Republican Congress members are trying the same BS Bush used to do to rally support for himself and turn the nation against his opposition (scare tactics, propoganda, and when all else fails, flat out LIES).
All of these ridiculous claims trace back to the same sources (Republicans in Congress), trickle out to the media, out en masse to the public, and by the time the TRUTH comes out, the public has already decided that "Obama's going to do this", and "Obama said that", when in actuality, it's all a huge steaming pile of Grade A bullsh*t, courtesy of your elected officials.

Barack Hussien Obama – my thoughts it is early and to late to change your vote now!
Although I have seen many valid reasons to panic, I think we will see more change down the road!

Not once did I bash Obama I have no reason to nobody, not even Obama can change things this soon. He said in his speechs towards the end he could not change everything even in office for 8 years.

I am not giving a report card just answering a poll.

God Bless the U.S.A.

Media made up his 100 days thing???  No, it's a repeat from "progressives" and it's entirely the wrong method to fix anything.  Newsflash, it's been done before, the rash of spending, the "hurry up and get it done" B.S.

Note: "Progressives" = Socialists

If that's what you want, then kudos to you.

Being the president of the most powerful nation in the world makes you interesting to the whole world especially when american armies are fighting terrorism all over the world, and american companies sell their products and employ thousands of people in countries thosands of miles away from the USA.

Interesting how so many people will weigh in, in support of O-F***-a, but it's more than just "doubtful" that they've even ventured to read the s*** the Executive Branch is supporting by simply visiting their webpage!

Many posts on this site make me Fn chuckle, simply due to that hypocrisy!  If you're absently going to post a comment similar to "He's the President, we should back him ... bwock, bwock, bwock"  at least have some sort of rationale as to why!

Calling our President a D-bag is just as "American" as referring to him as "The Commander in Chief," for one reason, this is America!

I would also say that just as many people who are opposed to Obama haven't "ventured to read the s*** the Executive Branch is supporting either.

The hypocrisy lies on both sides.

The best time to truly judge a President is about 4-10 years AFTER he leaves office.  Nobody from either side of the aisle can give a legitimate rating of a President until he is out of office.

I am not so sure that I agree with that.  If you are measuring the performance of a president based on how successful he is able to get his agenda enacted, then you may well be correct.  On the other hand, if you are to rate his performance based on the effect that his policies have on the overall well being of the country, then I would suggest that you don't have to wait until the guy is out of office.  Did we need to wait 4-10 years after the fall of Hitler's Germany to determine that he was evil -- no, of course not.

My problem with Obama is his policies -- Nationalized Healthcare, with the Government choosing who will live and die, Cap and Trade -- The largest hidden tax on the American people in history, the incessant 'bail-outs' and 'stimulus packages' -- the amount of debt that this jack*ss has accumulated in 6 months is more than his predecessor did in 4 years.  He nominates a 'racist' Supreme Court Justice that believes that a person's 'rich life experiences' and 'ethnic background' somehow makes them more qualified to interpret the law -- this same person believes that judges 'make policy' -- she should actually read the constitution some time, rather than simply base her opinions on what she wants it to say.

This guy bashes the Cambridge police because they arrest one of his Harvard buddies, and accuses a cop of being a racist without knowing the details of the incident.  It is pretty clear from what has come out on that incident that the only racists involved were the black professor and the President of the United States.

It sure as heck is not going to take me 4-10 years to determine that this guy is a national disgrace.

Don't fret ... as you can see, debates on the Q seem to NEVER die!

So if Homeland Security is labeling so many on here as "domestic terrorist threats", where the F is my door prize for being one of the few bleeding-heart liberals?!
The Department of Homeland Security will be receiving a strongly-worded letter from ME, I'll tell you that much!

Not as big of a waste of time as the 3 hours it took you to come up with a witty comeback like that.
