the good: spiders - if you aren't afraid of these, you may be broken.

the bad: my car spontaneously combusting - any time i smell or hear anything out of the norm i'll pull that heap over.

the ugly: bleacher seats - i am scared the row in front of me will blow through and chop my toes off. this is an insane and i'm sorry to say, legitimate fear.

I'm not scared of anything happening to me personally, but I'm certainly afraid of something happening to someone close to me...

Trains they are going to jump off and get me.
Train tracks.. where there are tracks there is a train lurking around the corner just aching to jump off and get me.
Sharks even a pictures of their mouth makes my pucker string pucker
the dark, I need a light.. somewhere, anywhere.
Heights, even the first floor of the mall makes me want to vomit.
Water deeper than 5 feet, anything deeper and my chest feels like I am swimming in concrete.
(even typing this list makes my heart all fluppy...)
Brindle dogs, I don't care the breed, brindle dogs want to bite my jugular.
Driving over bridges, lets just say that the 35W bridge collapse didn't help this fear.. at. all.
I used to be afraid of stepping on man holes.. my friends would jump on them and bring me to tears.  I'm over that now.

Things that creep me out but i am not afraid of them:
Time elapsed videos.. I don't know why but they are weird.. I don't care if its of a flower growing or an orange getting moldy.  ish.
Night vision videos.. mainly ones of kids... ::shudder:: they all look demonic.
Snakes.. the way their skin ripples and slithers.. vomit.
Turtle eggs.. not so much the eggs but the process of laying them.  I watched a video when I was little and I will never be the same again.

Normal:
Snakes. I'm petrified of snakes, and even if I wasn't born that way, certain things that have happened in my life have made me that way. I've had run-ins with rattle snakes, bull snakes, giant pythons, and even freakish run-ins with little garter and water snakes (one got stuck in my bicycle spokes when I was 7 and made me wreck..NO idea how that happened). Anyway...yea...it's a huge phobia and I can't even see them on TV or in pictures or I'll get the heebies and have nightmares. (I won't be coming back to this thread now, because I don't trust you people).

Stupid:
Earthworms - I don't know why. I'll walk across the street to avoid one though.
Slugs - same thing. I've always been petrified of slugs, since I was big enough to be scared of something. Just a couple of years ago I stepped on one barefoot. It felt like cold raw chicken.

Crazy:
Cold raw chicken....see "Slugs" above. I use a fork - I NEVER touch chicken when prepping to cook anymore.
Aspartame. I will read the label of ANYTHING sweet, and if it has aspartame in it I won't buy it or consume it. I freak out at people who only drink diet soda that judge me for drinking regular for this reason alone. However, I will chew sugarless gum...which contains aspartame.
Airplanes. Not flying, I dont' mind flying. I'm scared to death an airplane flying overhead is going to crash into my house at any given moment. And now we live near an airfield. Spectacular.

*Edit - forgot to mention that I'm ridiculously claustrophobic as well*

Okay well this is gonna take a while....some of these things just creep me out not really scare me...

Birds~I have this thing about the way they swoop down and I fear they may attack me.
Cats~ I know many people love them but they just seem so sneaky.
Moths~ They fly around kind of blindly, I don't think that watching The Mothman Prophecies helped much.
Clowns~ They scare me, can't tell how they really look under all the make up.
Magic~ It just seems so unnatural.
Midgets~ Idk what it is but I just am kinda scared of them. Hence, the reason I am unwilling to watch the Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonka. I never even let my kids watch those movies in my house. Which is funny because I did watch Austin Powers.

Heights!  When I'm tired, forget about it, the slightest elevation wil trigger an anxiety attack. I got stuck in traffic smack in the middle of the Brooklyn bridge, it took everything I had not to get out of the car and run off the bridge, just to end my misery.  But I'm working on it, because I can't stand being that afraid of anything.

I was a tomboy (still kind of am), so none of the creepy-crawly things ever bothered me.  Snakes, lizards, worms, bugs ... don't have an issue with any of them.  Bees fly around me all the time, and I'm the only person I know that pays them absolutely no mind.

I am, however, scared of heights, but not just any heights.  I'm scared of outdoor heights.  I can be on the top floor of a skyscraper and not care at all.  Put me on the roof of that skycraper, I'll panic a bit.  Put me on an outdoor, high, MOVING thing (like a rollercoaster), and I'm done.  lol
That's my main fear in life, sadly.  My others are far too personal, and will only be revealed if you have a comma and some impressive letters after your name, and you take my insurance.

I can relate to the aspartame thing. Ever since I read up on aspartame poisoning I have no desire to consume anything that has that in it. Of course, I guess you have to really drink a lot of diet drinks and eat a lot of sugar free foods to get poisoned from it, but I still would rather just stay away from it. I didn't even know the condition existed until a couple of years ago.

ssssshhhh, {glancing side to side} ... I'm skurred of sex...someone once told me that this snake comes out and glamours your flower then spits this potent, venomous substance that is incredibly difficult to treat.  I'm told it takes about nine months for the poison to truly go through your system.  All the while, you have to go to the doctor regularly month to month so he could check the size of the mass and when the substance leaves your body, it's like you are dying.  Makes you speak in tongues and have a super human strength...call me crazy but I'm NEVER gonna have sex...never ever ever

When I first saw "Jaws" years ago, I wouldn't get into any body of water larger than the bathtub for months!

My #1 fear is FIRE -- especially being trapped.     Also afraid of spiders/bugs and rodents.

See comment #56.  Plus our Ferris Wheel is 15 stories high.  The ONE time I got brave enough to ride it was with an A-hole who kept shaking the carriage when we were at the top.

Someone else who is afraid of clowns!... thought I was the only one.  I also am afraid of mimes and some magicians. Just too scary, the unknown.

you have never heard of a pucker string??? scary stuff gets a pucker factor.. Sharks are probably a 9.

You are right I used the word 'Fluppy' wrong, Fluppy is actually what happens to milk when it sits out too long.

TRAINS WILL JUMP OFF THE TRACK AND GET ME!  Don't Judge Dee.. don't judge..
You know me...I don't judge; I just wonder!!  Just so I Know - we can't hang out in New York or Chicago, cuz if we HAVE to go somewhere by train - it's gonna GET YA!

Yup...I am SKURRED of you!  Now you got me looking around for flying NASCAR tires and hell-bent electrical lines looking to fry my monkey-ass cuz you're L-Train is about to broad-jump East 32nd St and mow you over!

Thanks!  I'll just hide under the comforter now...holla!

I really better stop reading these things, because everyone will either think of me as a mean person or the most insensitive jerk in the world...but THIS IS GOOD STUFF!

Cali...you Know I luv you, so I will tell you this as a FRIEND who cares for your safety and sanity:

Stay the hell away from Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus!  They are out to GET YOU!!!  And the ZOO...AND the grocery store!

Hell...just lock your front door, run upstairs, jump in the tub and pull the shower curtain!  Just watch out for the hairy spider climbing out the faucet...nothing to REALLY be creeped out about!

I hate all bugs.  Seriously, I'll run away like a girl.  Sadly, it's very well known.  Guys r always leaving dead bugs n such in my dept. mailbox.  Last one was a hug dragonfly.  I thought it was a toy till I touched it.  Freaked me the @#$% out.  And for those of you who spent time in lovely Parris Island, SC, you can that was my nightmare come true.  Especially PT.
