YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST!
THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD, KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In December of 1972 a band was formed in New York City that would become one of the most popular acts of all time, KISS.  Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss became larger than life figures as they took their make-up wearing, fire breathing, guitar smoking, blood spitting act all around the world.  Over the years KISS eventually removed their make-up, had different members (Gene and Paul have always been in the band), retired, regrouped and reapplied the make-up that made them famous.  Now they are about to launch yet another world tour.  So as they do Q Nation let me ask you: WERE YOU PART OF THE KISS ARMY?  What is your favorite KISS song?  Or did you think it was a bunch on nonsense?

I love KISS!
I hated KISS.
KISS is not KISS without Peter and Ace.
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day!
Just what was that song Nothin' To Lose about???
Beth I hear you calling.
Gene=God of Thunder.
KISS Alive was better than KISS Alive II.
It is 2009, stop the 70's music!
I need some Cold Gin.

I hate "Rock & Roll All Night", It's one of the 10 overplayed Rock songs that I cannot listen to that song anymore.

If that's the first song a person thinks of when they think of Kiss, they need to listen to their other material, anything else they did rocks

I gotta be honest, I'm not a fan.  I like some of their songs, but mostly I think they're just too gimmicky.  I understand for their time they must have been hot, but I like my rock a lil harder and w/ less flair.  I'm also 27, so what do I know about music, anyway?

Nothing beats Cold Gin live.

Saw them in 1988 in Yokohama, Japan. Granted it was without makeup. But they kicked some serious booty. About 20 of us from our ship went there was chanting Cold Gin all night. Then Paul looks at our direction and say ok how about some Cold Gin. And Gene just went into it. After the song he spit his blood. We all think he heard us, I doubt it, but cool never the less. (we all bragged back on the ship that he heard us-  its our story and we're sticking  to it)

Some of the earlier stuff I used to jam to with my uncle/brother..   Hell, I remember dressing up like Ace Frehley for Halloween one time when I was about 9. I know they have a tour stop in Nashville coming up...

Wouldn't that be about 1/2 of the bands from the 80's?

I'll have to admit though, watching Family Jewels it shows Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed raised some good kids. Kudos to them for that.

2000 Man is the first song I ever learned on guitar while everyone was honning down Smoke On The Water. Althou I wasn't really a big fan of them growing up, I thought they were pretty cool and original in their make up.
#26 | 59 days ago

I have always liked Kiss and their music.  I have saw them in concert with the makeup and without.  The first concert was all the original members and it was great.

You know, I missed the bus on Kiss.  I liked some of their songs, but I wasn't savin' my lunch money to see them in concert.  However; I have really gotten into the reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and have really grown to like Gene Simmons. His wife and her sister are pretty shallow bitches, but Gene is business smart, funny, and totally devoted to his kids and I respect that in a man who lays claim to having slept with every female concert goer.
#33 | 58 days ago

I consider KISS a little before my time too...never cared much for them.

If I want a homoero, homogen, homocr.....screw it, confused make-up wearing, gender-bending like band, I'll go with these guys!

Old songs are gold, newer songs are more on rhythm, melody is lost with noise, louder the noise, more youngsters seem to love this kind of music.! Each to their own choice to get their hearing checked up.!
#35 | 58 days ago

I was in high school when they came out and went to a private school with that said my parents would have freaked if I listened to that kind of music. Might have even had me commited. I say that like it is a bad thing!  3 meals and meds coming on time, always clean linen and towels. Well got to go they got my straight jacket ready! Great poll mooser who is this beth you speak of?

I liked some of their songs, "Hard Luck Woman " is still my favorite. It has some awesome guitar playing in it and is done acoustically...great song!  The link is below...enjoy!  I love the Classic Rock and appreciate good talent.

"Detroit Rock City", "Calling Dr. Love", "Rock N' Roll All Night", "100,000 years", "Strutter", "Tears are Falling", "Heaven's on Fire", et. al.

The "KISS Army" is one of the reasons my radio "handle" was "the Major" (a.k.a. Major Metal)......damn I miss college!
#40 | 57 days ago

I do have a few of their albums, I like some of their songs and yes Rock N Roll All Nite is a bit overplayed,  at the same time I still think they're cool.   And seeing what gets put into the rock n roll hall of fame these days  no reason why KISS cant be in the hall either.

I've never been much of a fan...not because I think they aren't good, but because they just weren't my thing.

However, I won tickets to one of their concerts at Dodgers Stadium when I was 19. I've never seen so many 30 and up year olds smoking the herb as I did that night.
