I think they are both capable of making it to the playoffs, but that is about it.  Too many great teams out there that they still have to contend against.

Both of them (along with many other teams) have the SAME CHANCE of winning the Superbowl. It's a long season and any team can come from obscurity and make it to the Superbowl!  Heck, look at the Cardinals last season- 9-7 record, got LUCKY because the Eagles beat the Giants and ended up with TWO home playoff games! Sure they got hot at the right time, but in NO WAY were they the best team in the NFC! So starting 5-0 or 6-0 really means NOTHING at this point!

I went with Minnesota because if NO runs into a team like the Colts with Freeney and Mathis, then he wont be able to keep up with Peyton. Our defense was designed to stop the Saints

The Colts defense isn't really that good. If the Saints and Colts played for the Super Bowl it would be an incredible matchup of offense featuring two of the best QBs of the game. Brees' quick release and plethora of effective weapons would be too much for the Colts to contain. Plus with the newfound Saints running game, mixed in with screens and dump off passes to Bush/Thomas, it would be a repeat of the Miami game for you guys. On the other side, Peyton would have success passing on the us, but you are way too dependant on Peyton doing everything and have become one dimensional. Plus I believe we lead the league in + turnover margin. We already beat down one Manning :)

I don't think that Brett Favre will hold up for the whole season plus the playoffs.  He fell apart toward the end of last season.

If you watch the Colts then you know are defense is really good but even better versus passing teams like the Saints (Arizona MNF remember) like I sad we are designed to stop the pass (Freeney and Mathis), and yeah i saw the Miami game and we beat them, but why compare them with the Saints, their nothing alike, and our run defense is much improved we have stopped every running back we've played so far but Miami and the wildcat, but who can, and that includes stopping C. Johnson.

And what does beating Eli have to do with Peyton and why say Peyton is doing it by himself? We have a way better receiving core then New York and The Saints (R. Wayne, A. Gonzales, P. Garcon, D. Clark in the slot) and a better tight end (D. Clark), and a better o-line (least sacks in the league), and a better d-line (Freeney, Mathis), and better db's (B. Sander, A. Bethea, K. Haydon, M. Bullit etc...) oh yeah and a better QB

Brees has been amazing and their defense has 11 pick already this year. They will be tough to beat.

How bout Breesus and the Saints! That comeback was incredible. Never doubt the abilities of Breesus. 6-0 now.

Meanwhile the Vikings and Favre handed Pittsburgh a win.

I think the Vikings are better, thier one loss is to the defending Superbowl champs. If the Saints beat the Steelers then you can talk.

New ORELANS i feel that the saints have been together more a well oiled machine.Well ballanced team both sides of the ball special teams are good no major fault on this team..

VIKINGS, WHY???  BETTER DEFENSE THAN THE SAINTS PERIOD.
#18 | 21 days ago

When it comes to these two teams, my money is on the Saints.  They are playing much better this year & seem to really have it together.

I'm not sure. Both teams have great players.

Minnesota: Brett Favre, Percy Harvin, Adrian Peterson, Sydney Rice.
New Orleans: Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Thomas.

Minnesota may have a lot of overall great players, but the saints are racking up more points in games and they are undefeated unlike the Vikings.

vikings also lost @ pittsburgh. you know. the team that won the super bowl last year?
the vikings easily could have won that game also had the ball not been stripped from favre or had chester taylor not tipped the screen pass up in the air (both returned for TD's late in the game)
i'm sticking with the Vikings.

I haven't heard anything about the Vikings D but they must be doing OK.  But to say the VIkings Defense is better than the Saints?!?!!?! In the words of Chad Ochocinco "CHILD PLEEZ!!!"

Haven't heard about Vikes D?.......Have you been living in a cave?.....j/k......Although this year is a little down, they have had one of the best run defenses the past 3 yrs. This year the pass defense is starting to jell but took a big hit when Antoine Winfield went down but should be back soon.......

Well they probably have the past 3 years, I'm just sayin I haven't heard them talk about their D like the Saints especially when it comes to turnover margin and defensive TDs.  Probably overshadowed by all the talk about Offense with Favre.

Wow a very good question ????I think  the SAINTS are the all around better team.....

I have the utmost respect for the saints. I believe they are a super talented team and have a claim to being the best team in football. However, they are just an injury away from being a good team instead of super.  The vikings have dealt with Winfield being out and he is about to return which will spur on the defense which has played decently in his absense. I see the vikings as a more rounded offensive team. They dont need to win games based on their quarterbacks arm. While brees is definately one of the top 3 qb's in the league they dont have a running game that can match the vikings. I do believe NO wr's are a bit above the vikings but the vikings dont rely on that part of the game like the saints do. This should be a great nfc champ game if it gets to that point. There are many good teams and any team can win on any given sunday. Yes, my pick may be a homer style pick but i look at the whole picture not just my home team alliance.

With an all pro vetern QB that has been there before as a minner and a looser, I think the Vikings have the better chance.
#28 | 6 days ago

neither! i hope the steelers go to and win the superbowl
#29 | 6 days ago

I bet the Vikings will win the NFC. The only good team left on MIN schedule is CIN. The Saints still have NE, DAL, ATL and CAR.      MIN is only 1 game behind NO and I bet their gonna caught em and to get to a Super Bowl you will have to go through MIN (very hard place to win). Plus if you look at the way their team is built, they have just what is needed to beat NO.

1. Peterson will keep Brees off the field
2. Allen will keep Brees under pressure
3. Front seven will shut down Thomas, Bush and Bell
4. Favre will manage the game with no TOs
5. Winfield will contain Colston

"Racking up points" means nothing.  Just ask the last 3 teams to set new season scoring records how they did.

1. Theisman's 83 Redskin team set a new record of about 515 points and lost the Super Bowl to the Raiders I believe
2. The 1998 Vikings blew that out of the water with 556 points, a 15-1 record and lost in the NFC title game to the Falcons
3. The 2007 Patriots broke that record, along with Brady and Moss setting new high mark's for TD's, went 18-0 and still lost the Super Bowl to the Giants (what were they, 11-5 that season?)

Rack up points all you want Saints, you won't be able to come back every time against teams with real defenses.

Handed Pittsburgh a win? How did they do that when they had a touchdown that would of given them the lead but got called back because of a bad call. Please explain to me your logic to why you say this if you have any at all.

#32 | 6 days ago

The Viking will win the superbowl out of that team because for one Brett has been there and he know what to do to win again.  The Saints want it too bad and they will get to excited when they get there.  The Saints was looking good two years ago and what happen they got kick out of it in the playoff in the second round if I am not mistaken.

Do you not realize that the Steelers could still get to the Super Bowl and win it even if the Saints or Vikings do make it? The Steelers are in a different conference.

I agree with your final argument, however, NO. only tough game left is NE. Those others you mention might be tough but only because they will be fighting for the other 4 NFC spots. Also, I feel Bush is not as good as first proclaimed in the media.

Remember the 1st game vs. ATL they just barley slipped by, the next one will be in ATL. Plus ATL and CAR are division rivals which always can cause a problem.

How many people do you know that betted against Montana, Bradshaw and Griese?  How ever many you know, you know losers.  It's like that with Farve.  He is the real deal.  If he gets there, it's in the bag.  His real obstacle coming out of the National league is himself.  While, Brees got  INDY, NEW ENGLAND, CINCINNATI AND PITTSBURGH TO BE WORRIED ABOUT.  The Saints may not make it.  The game of the century would be Indy v the Vikings.  Manning v Farve.  Two greats, not wanna beeeessss.  The scenerio is playing out storybook fashion.  Farve may retire a winner!!!

Whole different team from when they were 12-4.  Our ( I am from New Orleans) coach/quarterback relationship is like no other.  I really think the only way they won't go all the way is if something happens to Drew Brees.  I have no doubt they will go 10-0 this Sunday @ Tampa Bay  GEAUX SAINTS.....

If the Saints keep winning out, they won't ever have to play outdoors in cold weather. The NFC will run through New Orleans. Even if they drop behind Minnesota, they also have a dome. There is no NFC team that plays outdoors that will be hosting a playoff game.
Saints, Vikings, Cardinals, Cowboys, Falcons all play in domes. Those are the top five seeds right now. We won't have to go to NY or Philly, or Chicago. Plus those teams might not even make it into the playoffs!
