I don't think Shaquille O'Neal will impede anyone.  Wish he was with the Knicks.

Shaq will help the Cavs in the playoffs, thats really what they got him for. The Cavs had the league's best record last year so....record-wise you cant get much better. They won't win as many games this year simply because the Diesel will be getting acclimated to his new team , however,  they'll be fine by the all-star break. King James will make sure they are good enough, record wise, to win the central division, contend for a top three spot,  and possibly home court advantage in a talent-laden Eastern Conference. They have the talent and the experience to make a deep run into the playoffs and possibly contend for a title...Artest will be joining an already loaded and talented Laker team that has a healthy... (for know).. ... and hungry Andrew Bynum who is eager to prove that he is ready to step into the spotlight. The Lakers still have a couple of obvious holes in that team defense that Artest will be instrumental in plugging. Small, quick, decisive point guards have been the bain of the Lakers' existence for a number of years, It's probably safe to say that the Mamba's new buddy will help him rectify the situation!!..KB24 will be rarin' to go after an offseason of r&r and a new stallion in the stable to run with!!  Based on the fact that he will free the Kobester up to sssssslither and prowl more on defense.....(whew!!)...... put  that crazy s.o.b. on the perimeter with Kobe to help funnel the opposition to the basket where there will be three seven foot wing-spans to deal with!!.....(scary!)... it's gonna be very hard to score on the inside AND outside of that Laker defense!! I think it's apparent that Artest's signing will not only have the biggest impact between him and the "Big Aristotle",  But probably the biggest in the league!!

Careful comments but you really didn't commit to either player. Excellent point of views, No doubt. !!! You must have been  a former baller...

You are a very wise man, No doubt !!!

artest by far. the lakers needed a "tough guy". shaq is on way to "retirement' he will be no factor at all. because for one, he's older now and most of his compitition we be  younger guys with alot of "wind", for two he hasnt, in all of these years, developed a good mid range jay. lleedubb, i dont think shaq will help them in the playoffs at all. they lost two decent players with more stamina and speed.

Ron artest is a train weck why do you think the pacers got rid of him.....Shaq will be good as a back up  he is to old and can not move ..Sence there are no 3 seconds called no more shaq would be called every time he was on offence. Shaq and james can be on the court at the same time shaq would have to move out of the lane so james could drive to the hoop...Shaq is a better door than window....

I picked Artest, just because he's in a better situation. Having said that, I don't think he's the perimeter defender he once was but he does give them an added degree of toughness they were lacking from time to time last year. I also think he's a better fit in the pseudo-triangle they run than Ariza was (Rodman-esque). Ariza seemed to get lost for extended spurts in that system.

Shaq look good yesterday sitting on the bench when they pulled him out the game during crunch time, watch Labron he dosen't know what to do anymore but sit outside and shoot jumpers !!! LOOK

Shaq is old and washed up and the Cavs gave up way too much to to put him on their roster! They were already a team lacking any serious depth, but they gave up even more of their depth for Shaq!  Will he has some good games- sure he IS a HOF player- but his skills have diminished over the years and he's not that "big scary Dude" anymore!  Artest provides the Lakers with MORE depth to an already VERY talented team.

I'm not going to say I feel Shaq is washed up but when it comes time to retire. I don't think he wants to go looking like a washed up old dude.  Respect is given to those who have made accomplishments. He has done that! when it comes to these 2 Its kinda 50/50 who can pull out of their slump and make it happen. I guess its just how bad they want. We'll see in the end.
