Weekly NHL Power Rankings Poll

Weekly NHL Power Rankings Poll Photo

I was perusing the NHL power rankings at various sites and I was astounded by wide array of opinions regarding the power rankings of certain teams. Sure it's early in the season and you might expect that, but let's let the hockey fans of the Q have their say on who got it most right. Here are links to 4 different power rankings:

sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/allan_muir/10/27/rising.canucks/index.html
www.tsn.ca/fantasy_news/feature/
sports.espn.go.com/nhl/powerranking
www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/10/26/week5_nhl_power_rankings/

I've started with 4 sites but in the weeks to come, if someone would like other sites added, I'll take them into consideration.

For this week, who got the NHL Power Rankings most right?

Surprisingly.....my picks for most correct are tied between ESPN and Sportnet. As for the others-----Whatever, with them ranking the Kings lower than some of the teams they have beaten this season.

I'm sure there is some of the waiting for them to fail syndrome going on. From what I've seen and heard, they should at least be placed in the top ten.

As far as the Flames go, both ESPN and Sportsnet have them ranked at #2 which begs the question: Which Flames team have they been watching? Yes the Flames have an admirable record, but if they actually watched the games, the rankers would see they have been less than impressive in winning.

Not a fan of any of them...I'd go with Sportsnet or *gasp* ESPN.

I don't know what TSN is thinking...Buffalo first and Phoenix third? They're both flukes. At least Phoenix is.

Even though it is early in the NHL season, the Penguins are the defending Stanley Cup Champions, and are 11-3. If they are not ranked #1, then something is wrong.
