I don't think Matsui is going anywhere. His knees may be blown, but he has proven that he can still hit home runs. I don't see them offering him much more $ then he is already getting though! GO YANKEES!!!!!

Damon will bail on the Yankees, just like he did on the Red Sox.

He is making around 12 million and he can't play the outfield anymore. I love the guy but it may be time for him to move on or take a lot less money and a reduced part on the team.

I can easily see them dropping Damon and then working their money magic on Bay.

Nady is gone. the yanks don't necessarily need him. Matsui may be gone too.

Yankees should dump Swisher and bring Bobby Abreu back

The Yanks want to get younger therefore I guess they will keep Nady over Matsui. Pettite can come bac as a #5 starter. they will probably resign Damon to a 2 yr deal and use the Matsui $$$ to get an untendered mid-level outfielder that can also DH.

I just can't sit where Xavier will fit in with this group next year. Hasn't really contributed much since the trade, albeit he was hurt, but yeah. I'd say he goes somewhere else this offseason.

I think Godzilla is gone.......  The Yanks want to get younger in the outfield, and Matsui really can't play in the field anymore..... Nady will take over Right Field, and Cabrea will move to left. Damon will stay but will be used primarily as a DH!  Just my thoughts!

they may all be gone...slash that payroll...Yanks need more money to sign every other available top name FA

The only other team Matsui might possibly play for would be Seattle (due to Ichiro). Who else really wants Damon at his age? But yeah, playing the typical Yankees game, you'd imagine they'll surely go after Bay or Holliday, so one of the outfielders is definitely expendable.

Do you think Matsui comes back in a reduced role and less money or winds up with more money somewhere else.

I guess it depends on which he cares about most-- money or championships. Seems like that's always the question, eh?

I also think that the Yankees are gonna make a big run at Matt Holiday and John Lackey!  This move (if the Yankees landed them) would make Matsui, Damon, and Pettitte pretty much "back-ups" on the team. Pettitte though, could be a very valuable 5th Starter for the Yankees!

I don't know, but, the New York Yankees would be very wise to hold on to Pettitte, Damon and Matsui.   LOL.  Matsui reminds me of Darryl Strawberry in that he usually comes up with a home run. Shucks, I expect it every time I see Matsui at bat.

You can't trade Matsui as he's a free agent, so those people should stop saying that. Like Matsui, Damon is also getting too old and wont be productive so he should go as well. Those 2 make 26 Mil, then u add in some others and the Yanks have about $50 Mil to work with and can expand payroll due to new stadium. Yanks need to get younger and share that DH spot for Posada/Jeter/A Rod. I say sign Lacky for 17.5 Mil and Matt Holiday for 20 Mil and get 2 bullpen guys and call it a dynasty.

Pettete- retire
Matsui- to Marniers
Damon- no way- too old
Nady- rather get out, SEE YA!
That means Lackey in, Abreu in.
