It is kind of hard to answer this at this point, Clausen still has 4 games left in his junior year. Clausen looks like he is well on his way to having a better junior season. But the wheels could come off the bus at any point and all Clausen has done this year could mean nothing.

Both are decent QB's, but I think I'd better give Quinn the edge. Not by much.

As much as I respected Brady Quinn for the success he had in South Bend, it's Jimmy Clausen.  Clausen has better accuracy, throws the long ball better, and he makes more plays when the games are on the line.  Don't get me wrong, it's not by much, but Clausen is the better QB in my mind.  I believe he'll have a much better pro career as well.

I'd say Jimmy just cause I feel he is the more accurate passer. He doesn't have that "gunslinger" mentality that Brady had. He is more patient with the football.

That was clever.  Did you come up with that all by yourself?

Let me know when one of those great Purdue NFL QB's actually wins something when it matters.  Peyton Manning would be a flop if you gave him the starting Browns job.  Kyle Orton was a flop until he went to a team with a little bit of talent.  I'm just going to disregard the comment about Clausen because only a cretinous Purdue fan who can't stand losing to ND every year would make such an asinine observation.

You must not have a lot to do. Since you have time to troll the Q and celebrate a team you aren't even a fan of, doing something your team couldn't.

I think Quinn had a better supporting cast than Clausen, but I feel Clausen will have a better career!!!! He's more polished than Quinn coming from a family of  QB'S.

Yep Jimmy has high numbers and many comeback wins, but against who? Purdue (4-6) , MSU (5-5), Washington (3-6).  When Brees got the New Orleans job he had nothing to work with and didn't lose the job to Derek Anderson type QB.

You just go ahead and have high expectations every year and underachieve every year. With the talent ND gets every recruiting class its embarrassing how they are never and will never be an elite team again. There must be something going on up there in south bend......  one suggestion.... get into a conference and stop taking BCS bids from more deserving teams

His numbers have been good against every team they have played, even the good ones.  If he had a defense that could stop somebody, they wouldn't be 6-3.  I'm not saying Quinn is better than Brees but Brees has had ample talent his entire career but has only had 3 winnning seasons coming into 2009.  Quinn hasn't gotten a chance to play with any talent so it is impossible to tell how good he can be in the NFL.  Cleveland is in a dog fight with Oakland for the most poorly run franchise in NFL history.  He needs to get out of that city if he ever wants to have success.  Brees has developed into a top 5 QB but he certainly wasn't very good his first 3 years.

I would much rather have high expectations and underachieve than go into every season expecting to lose and delivering on that expectation, i.e. Purdon't.  Would you be willing to bet ND never makes it to a NC in our lifetime?  College football is cyclical.  Nobody thought USC would ever be relevant again until they hired Pete Carroll.  Do I think Charlie Weis is the answer?  Probably not.  Although he is a great recruiter, he has proven that he can't win the big game.  They made a mistake not bringing in Urban Meyer when they had the chance.  I wouldn't mind seeing Jon Gruden in the Blue and Gold.  He has the type of mentality that ND needs to be successful again.
