The Grass Is NOT Always Greener
I see that several members have left this site for another site that is similar to the Q.  I don't plan on leaving or joining this "other" site.  Honestly, I did look at it.  There has been no member active for over 6 months to a year.  Maybe someone thinks they can build it up to match this site.  I think NOT!  I understand that there are some changes that we do not like.  However, I do feel in time the kinks will be worked out and this site will continue to dominate all the other sports site available.  I just hope that if you are thinking about leaving that you will reconsider and give the new season a chance. It has only been one week.

I have seen the other site too, and yes I have signed up. I don't see anything wrong with utilizing both sites. I can keep up with friends that have left this site and still be on here too. A lot of people have a facebook and a myspace to me this is the same thing. I don't plan on leaving here anytime soon. I have looked around that site and I have to disagree about one thing...I have come across many users that have been on there well over a year and they are active. Its just a different experience and life is about having choices, and making the choices that are right for you!

  Any site place one goes will have to face cold, hot & rain ..which means disadvantages. From my point of view the Management has focused more on the sports part for this season (as its sports site).....disappointment to ppl who wants fun in locker room with applause n increasing friendship. Now its only to accept logically that Y there needs award or applause to keep up friendship...it can be done without it with funny polls n funny comments..sharing each other views. We do not need awards or applause to boost ourselves to keep up friendship (adjusting logically with the change don't take me as a Mod. favor or admin favor guy). So Y not stick ourselves with this site n try to get through it with more fun n friends.

LOL, this isnt E harmony buddy, its a sports realated website and i am not here to make life long friends. To me, the locker room was a place to crack jokes and laugh at other peoples "funny" "smart" or "bold" comments. The purpose of many polls/posts were to make people laugh, how better to judge that than with a "funny" acknowledgement. It showed to the polster/poster that thier comment was liked or appreciated, there was no need to change that.  Call me crazy, but i was happy when i had the top comment, it made me feel good that people enjoyed what i wrote...whats wrong with that?

The only thing I can say about the new site, is that a recently booted Q member has created a group for Former Qers. He did this in order for us to create our own Locker Room there.

 No one said you are wrong, the thing is said about leaving the site or stick to it adjusting logically n that what I said...here not only you get the top comment but many many others who used to feel the same thing but now they r trying to adjust themselves rather than taking up an issue to leave the site overreacting.

 I think anyone who leaves this site "just because" is misguided.  I think anyone who refuses to join the other site "just because" is misguided.  We should all be different enough that some are satisfied by this site only, some are satisfied by the "other site" only, and the majority of us can find some satisfaction in both sites.  I don't see why a "right and a wrong answer" are absolute musts at this time.  Jeez, everyone, lighten up a little...we're not all Stepford Sports Fans, you know?

I would give you a Respect, but I am all out for today. To each his own, I am not trying to tell anyone they should stay or go. But for people that are just here cause they don't know there is another option, let alone an option that features some current and former Qers. If anyone wants to know what the site is just hit me up with a PM and I will give you the web address, and the name of both groups for the Qers.

It amazes me that there is always a Sh*t stirrer around, to take the place of the last one, be it a person, a poll, or a website.

Can't say it enough, I love this place. I have no problem with the changes they have made/are making for a free site. I have only one complaint, and that is the ability to let more than 10 people a day know I enjoyed their post, and from what I understand, that is being looked at. I will miss some of the people that have moved on, I think they have done themselves and their friends here a disservice, but that is life, and in the grand scheme of my life,I will move on with each day, and try to make it a great one for myself, and the other people I come in contact/interact with.

Sometimes, when you think the grass is greener, you come to realize, it is all just an illusion.

 I as well signed up with the other site just to see what it's all about, it's seems pretty cool, lots of similarities but also some different options not offered by the Q. I don't see myself leaving the Q as I have been here 3 years and have seen alot of changes, some good some not so good. My main reason for spending time on another site is that my specialty is making sports polls for points and as we all do I do enjoy the accolades, with the revision of only 10 accolades a day and only being able to give one person 2 a day is something that I strongly disagree with  (I blame Mooser, haha) but hey it's only a website, it has caused me to pause and really not have the same drive to contribute as much, it's alot of hard work to create polls, score them, invite people to participate and after all also doing it for free. My point is that if you worked for someone and they stopped paying you would you still do the work...I think not, so as the accolades go out the window so does the quality of good sports polls. I will continue to participate on the site more to keep in touch with friends I have made here then for the content the site is now offering. I'm sure the bugs will be fixed and when they are I will step up my participation.

Well, I call it a disservice, because friends that have gone, leave me no way to interact with them (or maybe they weren't really friends), as I have had my experiences with that particular venue, and cant /wont go there. I also believe it is like kids not getting what they want, so they pick up their marbles and go home, as opposed to hanging out and allowing this site to garner the info it needs to improve on what they have done.
As for my opinion being cocky poo, I prefer the term BS, and you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine.

I have no use for another site, this is the site I am on and contributing to. What was the question again? I do not appreciate the emails about another site either, just for one reason I am totally a fan of this site and those who have left have left on their own accord. They either left because this was not the site for them or because they disrespected the best site around, thus a choice they made on their own.

  Everybody is on multiple sites (facebook, myspace, linkedin, twitter).  You find what you like and you go with it.  I joined myspace first thinking it was better than facebook.  I'm on facebook everyday and haven't been to myspace in ages.  I was even on another sport site (crowdspace or something, it's been so long i don't remember.)  I know I'll be here because I have invested a lot of my time into it, and not as a mod.  I guess I am loyal like that, wrong or right.  There is nothing wrong with other sites, just not for me.

I've been over to the other site.  Kramer is right, it's a blatant rip off of this site.  There is probably 200 times more content here, and I may be undershooting that a little. 

I don't begrudge anyone for using more than one site.  Personally, I'll stick to this one.  There are good people at both sites, but as Jrsflame points out in her poll title, the grass is not always greener.  

There were a lot of significant changes here.  It stands to reason you'll lose a lot of people with change.  When major change happens, we're presented with a choice, embrace change, or go find something else that you're more comfortable with.  I think a lot of people are embracing change, and personally, I think that's a great personality trait. 

I have to confess that I've been a little saddened at some of the rhetoric of the people who have left.  It's crazy that it's possible to get to know and admire people just from interacting with them here.  And then to see them get bitter and angry over this season 2 change just blows my mind. 

I've been used in this drama too, and it's really aggravating.  A message was sent out to many members saying I among others were leaving here to go over there.  The bitterness it takes for someone to do such a thing is mind boggling to me.  Since I've decided to not leave here, I'm slandered over there.  Honestly, I'm just here to have fun and enjoy sports with some great sports fans.  The drama stuff is for the birds, these people really need to get a life.

I wasn't invited, but things have filtered down to me, and it amazes me that people I thought were friends, aren't.  Why that should amaze me at my age, I really don't know ! I was told by a dear friend ( one I know  is genuinely a true friend) this past weekend, that I tend to embrace everyone, and give everything a chance. Sometimes this is to my detriment,  but this time, I am thinking not.
I get trash talked, but I know it is because I speak honestly, and in a voice of reason, and from my heart; and some people, in the words of  Col. Jessup, some people just can't handle the truth!

C'est la vie....I think we need to move on and embrace each other, and the changes the Q has made, and stop acting like whiny children that haven't gotten what they wanted , the very second that they wanted it. 
I don't particularly like change, but I am learning that sometimes change helps me grow as a person, opens my world to new possibilities, and that, I like.

I don't care if you are here, or there.If you were a friend and choose to leave the Q, I respect that. I won't like it, cos I won't get to enjoy your company anymore. If you choose to visit both sites, then great, at least I can still see you, but be forewarned, trashing this site will never receive favorable commentary from me! ( not that what I think or feel matters a hill of beans to most, nor should it)

BTW, if anyone else doesn't know the meaning of honesty and friendship, please do us both a favor, and stop following me, because those things mean something to me in life, even on a website!

third edition, if you leave the "Q" do so on your own convictions,dont jump just because so and so did, then your doing no justice to the "Q",i was taught if you dont like where you are at option #! leave,but do so on your own #@ stay and hang thur the changes and make the best of  it.....it could become a lot better than it was before.....it would be cool to say i had a hand in the making of the better "Q".....every one makes dozens of decisions all day,week,month,year....how long will this decision hold fast and was it worth it at all......

Scott, that was the best-earned Respect I've yet given. You said everything I've been thinking and said it very well.

I don't have any problem with people using two sites or a dozen sites. Whatever floats your boat. However, the idea of "leaving this stupid site and it's so much better over there..." It's just childish. FanIQ.com didn't betray them, or run off with their money, or bear their love child. Come ON.

Part of me thinks some of these folks are just pissed that Obama was a change they had no choice but to accept, so now that they have a change they don't have to accept...

I didn't get that message. No one wanted to invite me over there, apparently. Someone eventually did give me the link but it wasn't as an invitation. So I have seen the site. I haven't read any forums there so I don't know what the expatriates are saying. I doubt anything's been said about me. I never mattered that much :)

I also want to state one time for the record that I wasn't planning on becoming a Moderator, at least right now. What happened is that since I was a Featured Writer but didn't have the actual ability to feature articles, I asked if I could gain that ability. Instead they decided to give me full featuring ability, which in effect makes me a mod. I really hope no one treats me differently because of it. I'm not planning on acting any differently because of it. But if it allows me to halt potential abuse or just fix horrid spelling and grammar, I'm happy with that.

why cant people enjoy both sites , what diffirence does it make? iv been here over 2 years and not leaving, i just dont like the changes that were made and the other place is kewl also. i have friends here i care about and always will .and i have friend there, i dont bash the Q there and n ot going to bash that place here. so lets move on to better things to talk about.....and put a smile on !
