Do you have any superstitions?
Since today is Friday the 13th, just wondering if anyone had any superstitions they'd like to share.

 I always believed that seeing a single crow means bad luck. So whenever I see just one I do the X sign on it to ward of any bad luck.

 Yes walking under a ladder,  black cat crossing  in front of me,  washing clothes on News Year's Day,  broken mirrors,  a bird flying into a window,  eyes itching, ears itching, nose itching, hands itching, feet itching, and now Roxie you have given me  a  single black crow to worry about.
I'm superstitious about everything.

Those who know about these things, inform us that Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden on a Friday, Noah's flood started on a Friday, and Christ was crucified on a Friday. Christians also noted that twelve witches plus one devil are present at Satanic ceremonies so Friday and 13 make a deadly combination.

  We believe that wasting or throwing away excess salt (unused) may bring bad luck. In unavoidable circumstances, we have to utter these words, "Go salt we will buy you again on the next market day"... lol..i still do it..

 I think I have quite a few of them, Friday the 13th, something usually happens to me on this day.. . I dont want any bad news or bad things to happen for a week..

I had a black cat once, I  named him spoo.( oops backwards) never had bad luck !

 my only one was when i was pregnant. No man was allowed to touch my stomach because "they" say that if you let  a man touch your pregnant stomach, the baby may come out looking just  like him. .and there's gonna be trouble.

i didn't and my baby looks just like me and only me. she doesnt even look like her daddy. i guess i didnt let him touch it either. ha

 Not really...

except when I fish... I have to dip the net in the water immediately out in the boat, so it's ready...  then do my fish call which consists of "Yark! Yark! <then spit in the water> then say, here fishy fishy fishy, fisheeeeeeeeyyyyyy, here fishy fishy fishy fisheeeeeeey!"....  Then the big one always bites!

 Yes I do, comes with being Irish I guess. Broken mirrors, black cats crossing my path, birds flying into a window, walking under a ladder, opening an umbrella in the house, walking on a grave, deaths come in 3's, shaking salt over my left shoulder. I'm sure there are some I' forgetting, but this will do for starters...

I have the same ones Cuddles! I think there is one about an owl, but I can't remember what it means right now.

 Not with numbers or supernatural type stuff, but I was a little OCD when I played sports in high school and college. It seems ridiculous now, but I did do things the same way or in the same pattern before or during games. I think it was a relaxing / comfort thing. I think that's what it comes down to in every superstition.

Yeah, for me it's all about NFL gameday wear, otherwise I don't really buy any of that stuff that cuddles listed off above.  What's the bird flying into the window thing, that happened at home twice in a 10 minute span 2 weeks ago today.  They were stupid young birds that thought they were attacking a foe.... also, I've never heard anything about washing clothes on New Year's Day, how else are the drunks going to get the puke out of their clothes?

Ladders and black cats or any of that doesn't  bother me, but I alway's have to do the knock on wood thing almost everyday day. I also have to tie my show laces in a certain pattern or I feel I'm going to get into an accident. It seems really silly writing that but I have been doing it for so long I do it automatically now.

 I wouldn't call them superstitions. I would call them routines. I get dressed the same way and wear the same jersey for my team unless they lose that game then I try a different jersey and get dressed in a different order.
