Same here. Actually they refurbished the basement, put a pool table and this huge baseball game dartboard in the rumpus room, and told me I had everything I needed there. I was allowed beer only ( I was 16, and back then the drinking age was 18), and anyone that came and hung out, had to have permission from their P's to be there. It became a pretty kool place to hang.

They preferred that to me using a fake ID to get into the bars, as I looked a wee bit older than 16, and had recently brought a 22 year old home with me, and they also figured I'd be sneaking out and doing it anyway. They wanted me safe at home.

~Sigh~ Things were so different WAY back then..LOL

After school, I hang out at home, mostly.  I was a huge geeky loser outcast in high school (I'm aware that I still am ... no need to point it out.)

During school, I'd be outside hanging out with the maintenance crew smoking cigarettes and getting in heaps of trouble.  (My home phone number was programmed into the principal's speed dial, if that gives you any indication.)

We had a route to ride in and if we wanted to stop we would all park in the local hamburger restaurant parking lot.  We would circle Hardees, go down ride thru Mcdonalds and then back up to Hardees.  Hanging out of the cars or switching riders.  It was always fun.  Ofcourse, there was a special place to go parking also!

I use to hang out at any of my friends houses whose parents weren't home, the mall, the beach, and the baseball/softball field.

We hung out at my place a lot. My Dad was cool about us drinking as long as we stayed at home once we started. Hell he would even be sure we had eats for when the inevitable munchies kicked in however, my favorite spot was my buddy's shed. It was an 8' x 10' shed that we put 2 old couches into and a wood burning stove. We then ran an extension cord from the house and put a 'ghetto blaster' and a couple of lights. Only thing missing was a beer fridge [not a problem in winter]. Six of us [3 guys 3 girls] had some great parties in there and 'crashed' there many a night. Come to think of it, just me and him had some great nights of boozing in there as well.

My little town during high school didn't have much so we hung out at Carbide Park (at the time) or at the cemetary.  Depended, if we wanted to be around people and terrorize the local police force it was the park.  If we wanted quiet and solitude, we hung out at the creek in the back of the cemetary.  Got to know a lot of dead people and we actually took care of some neglected graves we kind of adopted.  Strange I know, but I guess you had to be there.  Night time, we went to the drive in (Mondays was $1 a car load).  Daytime was surfing at the beach or just hanging out there.
