The Patriots lost the game.  Their running game cant deliver.  Though I will say that phantom pass interference call may have been the worst call of the week.

It was a culmination of F ups by Bellychuckle!!   (For the most part)

As soon as he took the last timeout at 2:08, my first reaction was "WTF???"  ... "It's going to be 2min warning in like 8 seconds ... suck it the F up!!!"   AND ... with a Fn team like Indy and a bada** QB like Patricia, WHY THE F ARE YOU GOING TO GO UNDER 4 MIN WITHOUT AT LEAST TWO TIMEOUTS????   Numbn**z!!!

Can't dis the Ponies on this one!  They played a kicka** game!  I think Marsha could've played ... not necessarily "better" but a little differently on the last drive too ... the last series was kinda baffling about the choices of who gets the ball, and where on the field.

The fact is that Peyton Manning getting the ball with more than 30 seconds and down 8 or fewer is not a good situation for any opponent; frankly if Bill Belichick makes the opposite decisions does New England win?  Perhaps but we don't know that, he's forgotten more about football than any of us will ever hope to know.  I don't like him, but my respect for him is immense, a few shaky decisions doesn't change that.

Bill Belichick just showed to his D that he didnt have any faith in them and all the faith in his offense which didnt deliver when it meant most I am a die hard colts fan and I despise the patriots  as any colts fan would even if they would have punted it peyton would have had the time to get back down field not saying they would have scored a TD but given it up on 4th&2 on the colts own 30 is just crazy it was a great game and cant wait for further match ups with these two teams it is the rivalry of the decade!!!!

I really like Tom Brady, but I can't help but wonder why nobody thinks it's his fault, he is the QB. If the Pats would have won this game and the poll had been reversed, Tom Brady would be the reason they won, so why doesn't anyone think he is the reason they lost?

Recent history between the Pats and Colts has always come down to Belechick matching wits with Peyton.  Coach B was and is an old school coach, team above all else, no egos here.  He forgot and took it personally against Peyton.  He forgot that there is no I in team and ego won out, and lost the game.

Call it what you want. Analyze it however you want. Blame whoever you want. The bottom line is that the Colts Defense dominated the last 15 minutes and the Patriots D wilted away to nonexistance. The Colts Offense AND Defense owned the 4th qtr and THAT is where Big NFL games are won and lost.

The Patriots didn't lose it..... The COLTS WON IT.

Because HE didn't call the play!!  Brady is a ROBOT!!  He is TOO PERFECT a quarterback to not listen to his coach and do the smart thing and call a time out and say "Hey, STOOOOPID!!  We should PUNTING, not screwing off!!  This is the ONLY team we play that knows HOW TO PLAY THE GAME to WIN!!"

For one:  Belichicks decision to go for it was one of the absolute WORST calls I have ever seen from an NFL Head Coach!  For two: The was one of the most generous SPOTS of the football that I have seen in quite some time (nice home cooking there)! And Three: The Colts CAPITALIZED on the whole scenario!  So I say, CONGRATS to the Colts!

Right... but so is throwing an interception. He had already done it twice, and almost threw a couple more. I'm not saying he would have thrown one, but doesn't it seem like the chances would increase if he had to go 70 yards, as opposed to 25?
#21 | 1284 days ago

Ok, I'll admit, when the hoodie made that call I said wtf.  I'm still shaking my head - I would have punted 100% of the time, but upon looking back I guess the reasoning is there and it's easy for me to play armchair QB now...

I'd still punt and force Manning to go the distance instead of relying upon my D to contain a potent offense in the red zone.  Particularly if I didn't have any reviews.

The Pats had this game well in hand.  They haven't had a decent running game for a while.  I wouldn't put the loss solely on Belichick, but his 4th down decision was the straw that broke the camel's back.  It doesn't matter if you're the Pats or the Lions, you have 4th down on your own 28 and you're winning at the 2-minute warning, punt it!

Placing the blame solely on Belichick's call is akin to blaming it all on the kicker whose potential game-winner sails wide right, or the closer who hangs one over the middle of the plate. Sixty minutes of football are not decided by one call. And you could just as easily blame Kevin Faulk-- if he gets full control of that ball, the game is over. The Pats allowed the Colts to come back. The Colts capitalized. It seems quite common of Boston fans to not give the other team credit. I think in that fourth quarter Manning, Wayne, and company knew they were going to find a way to win it. The smelled history in the making.

Maroney fumbling the ball on the 2 yard line lost the game. Fumbles should never happen. The pats then would have had another 6 points therefore that 4th and 2 play never would have happened

If BB's call works and they get a first down, then as usual the man's a genius. But since it didn't everybody wants to question. They did have a good play called and if properly executed (Faulk doesn't bobble), they get the first down and everyone talks about how Brady gets Peyton again to "prove" he's the better QB. Belicheck goes for it on 4th down a lot and this time it bit him. That's it.

The Pats didn't beat themselves, we won the game. Peyton is known for 4th quarter come backs and excellent game winning 2 min. drives. Belichick knew that if he punted the ball to Peyton, New England still would of lose. Peyton was shredding their defense in the 2nd half. The 2 pics Peyton threw were clearly unforced errors, New England's defense had nothing to do with it. If it wasn't for our unforced errors the game probably wouldn't of even been that close. The Colts have beat the Pats 5 of the last 6 games. Bilichick is an great Hall of Fame coach and knew that Peyton was going to scored if he punted. The numbers prove it, the Pats dominated the 1st half, the Colts dominated the 2nd half. Once the momentum swung our way their was no stopping it and, Belichick understood that.

It seems Ray Handley might have been a better choice at the Head Coaching position for the Pats last night... Seeing Billy B's face after the game was well worth staying up past my wife-ordained bedtime. I worried that pretty boy might march them down the field in those 9 seconds they gave him and spoil my evening but alas it was not to be...

I think that the Patriots is a cocky team on whole and there coach is even more cocky.. but with that said... its good to be confident and there is no doubt that all those player taught that they were going to get the 1st down on that play...so its a team loss. If they had made that play and won the game it would be Patriots at there best a Billy  B being confident in his team and a genius...that would have been the praises....

I guess I'm the only one who saw that Kevin caught the ball, got it to his chest, had the forward movement. The ref (I am trying to get a way to write to him) pulled the flag after he went to the ground and held up the ball.  Then and only then. This is a bit suspicious to me. I have never seen a flag thrown after the fact with the exception of personal fouls.
I viewed this dozens of times. Each time it was the same.
Calling the Patriots cocky is far off. These guys act as professional everywhere they go. They are noted for being even handed and not in the habit of blaming anyone but themselves for their woes. Bill is not arrogant. He is also a professional. The determination to go for it was made by Tom, the offenses play caller. If they had got the down( and they did) everyone would have said, "What a ballsy play. Just like Bill and Tom", as most are used to. It was done for legitimate reasons and as the cameras showed it was a catch with forward movement a yard past the down.
I guess if you think it is a big when the game is given to you by bad calls in the last two minutes then so be it. But the Colts are a great team. Manning is nothing short of genius and they got the two TDs just like they can do and the Pats have done for so many years it is hard to remember.

All in all it was a great game. The winner, the winner. My point however is valid and the booth, the other refs and especially Mr., "Let me take all day to throw the flag made what could have been a real nail biter a bitter pill for the Patriots and the Colts because these guys are tops. The absolute best and the game showed that in spades.

Yeah but he did bobble the ball, and by rule your only given forward progress to the spot in which you had full control of the pass. Once he gained full control of the ball his feet were past the 30 yard line but the ball was still behind it, turnover on downs.

Kevin did catch it in front of the first down marker, but by the time he stopped bobbling it, his upper half with the ball was back behind it.  Belichick also couldn't challenge it because remember he was out of timeouts.

I tend  to think that the defense had a big part in losing the game.  They gave up way too much in the second half and too quickly. Coach could have shown a bit more confidence in them, but I don't know, he's won 3 rings with the pats so I''m thinking he's entitled to a screw up occasionally.

funny thing about the interference call is that he had his back to the receiver and was going for the ball. he wasn't even touching him. not to mentions that Collie would have had to of been 7 feet tall to catch the ball. But hey it happens. Maybe if Maroney could hang on to the ball it doesnt get as far as it does.

Belichick needs to learn to acknowledge the other coach after the game. He barely shook coach Caldwells hand after the game, he snubbed him like he does all the other coaches....... He and the Pats have NO CLASS win or lose........GO COLTS

I'll believe it when they collect the Lombardi Trophy, until then, it doesn't matter if the Colts or the Pats are the better team.  For now, the Steelers have the bragging rights, although the Bengals are punking them.

Gonna ROTFLMAO when the Titans whup the Colts in 2 weeks.

Wow if that's what your waiting for then your waiting a whole 2 weeks to be upset lol.

I like that name for Belichick but I'd prefer calling him Belicheat....Pay back is hell.....You cheat and eventually it catches up...

It's ridiculous to hear people talk like that.

For starters, he got fined the most in NFL history. I'd say that "caught up" to him.

2nd, let's keep this game in perspective. It was a regular season game. That's it. If that's "hell", then it's really not THAT bad at all.

3rd, mangling people's names like that is the most immature thing that sports fans have ever done. It doesn't matter who it is... Gay-ton Manning, Elisha Manning, Ben Worthlessberger, Bill Belicheat... it's all idiotic.
