 I chose "Columbo"   but Maxwell Smart   in "Get Smart" was pretty dang funny  loved both shows.

 My favorite PI show of all-time was Remington Steele.  Favorite Cop show was Barney Miller (OK, that was a sit-com).  In that case I'll go with Law & Order - Lenny Briscoe episodes.  Hats off to Magnum, though - he is a Detroit Tiger fan.

 Police Squad

One of the greatest cop shows EVER. Too bad they were canceled after only 6 episodes.
They did have 3 classic movies several years later, though.

 I used to like Ellery Queen (in the 70's...got to stay up later at night to watch it..).....but Hill Street Blues was great.  POLICE SQUAD was FUNNY AS HELL!!!!  I was in college when it came out and being drunk and watching it made it that much funnier....turned in to the "Naked Gun" series of movies...
