mine is past the teenage years and except for being a pain in the a$$ about doing his homework he was one of the easiest kids to take care of.  I howevere was a nightmare for my parents.

Uh, yeah, I'm definitely not ready for kids and dealing with this crap.  I really really hope I never have a girl.  My greatest fear is being a single father taking care of a girl.  My hypothetical daughter would be screwed.
#11 | 1280 days ago

I have a 16 year old daughter. Nothing I want to share, but I'm sure everyone remembers what it's like to be 16.

I've already apologized to my parents for being 16. It's not easy.

I have three daughters...all two years apart...it wasn't easy, luckily they were nothing like me when I was a teenager!

got seven - three are teens (17, 15, 14) - another soon to be...it's not easy bein green - when all yur kids have grown to teens...yeah - dig in deep - it'll test you to the very core - no stories willing to share yet that would shock or be humor worthy...(to be continued!!)

I don't know what I would do, personally.  I have no kids, but I'd like to think I'd be a good mother.  I just know I'd be way over-protective, though.  I mean, someone wrongs one of my friends and the claws come out ... I can't imagine if anyone messed with my CHILD.

Dont let your daughter date the guy i use to be thats for sure!!! All teenage boys want is to find out what its like and then move on to the next one. Tell her not to believe them when they (teenage boys) "I love you"... its not true. Tell her to listen to that Taylor Swift song.
#19 | 1279 days ago

My kids are in their 40's,   i made it thru.   Out of 6 grands  4 are in their 20s, one is 19 and one is 13.   My grandsons were something else, talk about oversexed maniacs.  They were.  lol  I heard things no grandmother should hear.  lol

Oh yeah... the 17-year-old daughter just had her first visit to the ob/gyn, got put on birth control, good times... I've told her I'd be perfectly OK with her being a lesbian for a few years.

Now understand this-- she was my stepdaughter and I adopted her-- imagine instantly becoming the father of a teenage girl (she was 13 at the time). And then my other stepdaughter (can't adopt her, dad's still around) turned 12 in October and that child is crazy emotional, she better get her period soon!

My 16 year old has been dating the same boy for around 6 months.  I wish I could put a tracking device on her.  We have had the talk, but she swears that she isn't doing anything.  This is a child that threw a fit for a bra at 3 and carried around a ,feminine pad in her person starting at nine.

Also, over the summer my cable bill came in and there was three XXX movies ordered at the time I was at work.  My son, who will be 14 in two weeks, swore it wasn't him.  I didn't even know you could order them!  Needless to say, we no longer have digital cable!

Yeah, um, I think that's kinda the point there.  You don't want her to be "screwed".

My kids are too young, but my son at 12 knows a few things, but if he's interested in girls in any way besides general cuteness, he sure doesn't let on.  He had his first crush last year, but I hope he stays this innocent for awhile yet. :)

When I got mine, my mom said "Thank God!!"  I didn't understand what she meant until much later.  I was a little mad at God for it at the time.  I was 10.  I can only imagine what kind of terror would have existed if she had to wait much longer.  My oldest sister (20 yrs older than me) had to explain the Birds & the Bees because I'm still waiting for mom to explain them.
#35 | 1276 days ago

I'm personally terrified if I have a daughter, while I would love to have one - I'd be the biggest pushover and spoil the crap out of her - I think it would be for the best if neither one of us had to suffer through that whole teenage phase. Way too uncomfortable for me to just think about it.

Boys; so much easier to explain to and all most of them will do is hide in their room from the ages of 13-18 and will be ready to move out once they're done with HS, and I'm fine with that.

I'm still waiting too...

Our talk from Dad was pretty much "you guys know what condoms are right", "right", "good, use them but don't take any of mine."

We still have cable just not pay per view of any kind.  Not unless I call and order it, and I have a password on my account. Kids are sneaky!

I have two teenage daughters. My life is a xanax in one hand and a bloody mary in the other. Parents of teenage daughters know why animals eat thier young.  My 15 year old the other day informed me I could no longer tell her what to do, I said ok have fun walking to school.

I am sixty now, have wife, 55 and lovely affectionate daughter of 29, my father turned a friend to me when i was sort of a rebel at 16, did all that was not expected of good boys, but once we became friends, his noble nature, patience and love made me humane, now it is the same for my daughter, a friend with whom she can always have no hesitation to talk of any issues. With her mother going thru trauma of brain tumor and operation, surgery, chemotherapy, I had to be both mother and father to my child.
Occasional mood swings of my wife, my stoic responses, at times make her more stoic and lively with laughs, making life happier to live.
