If not satisfied ask for a refund. (Edited 11/24/09 08:16AM by ankurnathmishra)
Payers of a British football Club have offered to pay the money of the fans back after an abysmal performance on the field which resulted in a 9-1 loss with 8 of the 9 goals coming in the second half and one of the opponent team strikers scoring five times including a hat trick completed within six minutes an appalling performance nonetheless. My question is would you like to get your money back if the team puts up a substandard performance, and if yes will it not be another case of money driving the players to perform rather than the passion for the sport??

Great, then the taxpayers can own another failure.

I think it's great that the team wants to return money to the fans.  Show's that they appreciate where their money really comes from.  And no, I don't think it affects the players passion for the sport, they either have some or they don't, the management deciding to return money isn't going to affect that.  Unless of course the guys who care about the success of the team begin to step it up a little, but that would be a positive thing.  Money isn't necessarily a bad thing, it can be a great motivator.

It would be nice to get a refund for a horrible game, but that's never going to happen in the USA.

They can keep the money, especially if I was crazy enought to give it to them after knowing their track record (i.e.- the Atlanta Hawks, Braves, Falcons).

Oh, and I care, but I like selecting 'Beaneaters'. Great poll...

I think you'd have to then charge extra for really good games. Then you could set up a citywide system for the better teams to help the bad ones out. The Pirates would borrow from the Steelers and Penguins; the Browns and Indians from the Cavaliers; wait... this is never going to even out.

I think its about the sport really but when the big money comes into it you cant blame some for getting a little more wrapped up in that side of playing the sport. Here our footballers work while playing and i am talking about our AFL which is our top level of the game. It takes them years to earn the really big money so without a job as well some couldnt play. Cricket is a little different because they travel the world for most of the year so make much better money faster.  We love our sport here but the easy money isnt so easy to get.

The Hawks offered a big refund for season ticket holders if they didn't make the playoffs one year. It was a big disaster, and needless to say, they never did it again.
