Her Top Flew Off And Hit Me (Edited 11/24/09 10:58PM by woody050681)
I was driving home from work the other day and I was just about home when I met a woman driving a pick up truck going the opposite direction. Just as the truck met me the topper flew off and hit my vehicle, it knocked out the driver's side headlight and put a huge dent and scratch up the side of my truck. (actually I was driving a company vehicle) When I told the boss at work the next day he looked at me like I was lying.
So I ask you my fellow Q members, What is the weirdest or craziest thing you have hit or been hit by while driving a vehicle?

Im not proud of this, but i hit a cat once. It was late at night and as i was coming up the street, i saw two glowing eyes under a parked car. When i got closer to the car, the cat jumped right out in front of my car...it was too late. Goodbye kitty, i hope that wasnt your ninth life.

Only you Woody!  My windshield has been hit by some gravel that flew off the back off a dump truck, and some tree bark once.  If I get out of the drive way without hitting anything I'm doing good! I have hit all of these:

1.  The Big River Rocks that were around a gold fish pond.
2.  Backed into a tree.
3.  Backed into one of the Iron Wagon Wheels that mark the drive way.
4.  A bicycle

 I was driving down one of the main roads in a nearby city one afternoon during a horrendous windstorm when a canopy blew off a truck going in the other direction and blew across the road, heading straight for me.  I accelerated and it missed the back of my vehicle by about an inch, smashing into a car the next lane over, slightly behind me.

 Other than gravel,  and a couple of cars,  a couple of birds, rabbits, possums, squirrels, snakes and a ton of bugs, i have been free of assault on the highway.

Now did you really think no one but beaneaters would click that one?

 Unfortunatly, I took out a beautiful buck who decided to cross the interstate late one night.  Flipped him over my car into the windshield of the car behind me.  Not near as much damage to my car as there was to the buck and Caddy.

 I was driving home from work one day on the interstate a car on the other side  (southbound) had a tire fall off...COMPLETLEY off, and started rolling and crossing the median....right at me!  I was watching this rouge tire coming and I was trying to compute the angles and speed to miss it, and NOT cause an accident on my side ofn the interstate (northbound). 

It was inevitable the tire was going to hit or come very close to me.  At the last minute the tire took a hop and glanced off the top of my hood and bounced over the car to my right.....he did not see it coming and freaked out!  went into the ditch with the rouge tire!

 I have run over the following animals: 

Deer, squirrel, dog, cat, rabbit, turtle, bird, possum, racoon, snake, bugs.

I have also hit the following: 

Trash cans, ladder, 2x4, boxes, mattress, shoes, mailbox, tarp, shopping cart, bucket, basketball

Oddly enough, I have never hit another vehicle.

 I've hit a bird (twice) mid-flight.  That's just weird to me. 

I've also had two people at drive-thru windows just throw their cars into reverse and back right into me.    WTF?

 I was in downtown Madison and had an idiot try backing up while at a red light.  Thankfully no one was behind me so I backed up to avoid an accident.  I let the driver know that he was number one.  I also then made an over-the-top and offensive Facebook status about Madison drivers that was quickly deleted.  That guy was a douche.

well where do i start at   A moose hit the grill of my 18 wheeler caved it in i had a elk run out in front of me  can not count how many deer that have killed themselves buy running into or in front off my truck.

 A deer jumped in my passenger side window one time. Other then that, I havent been hit on in a long time. I mean hit in a long time by anything.

My mom got hit by a flip-flop somebody had thrown out of their car ahead of us. And last time we wnt to Mobile, our car had covered in mating lovebugs for three days. If you've never watched a bunch of bugs turn to pulp on the windshild while doing it...I envy you!

 Pheasants are DUMB!! My daughter caught one by sneaking up on it, just picked it right up off the road.  It was so busy eyeballing our quads in front of it, she just snuck around behind it and picked it up.

When I was learning to drive, I took my dad's company car for a joy ride while he was out of town.  When I got home, I ran the car into our motor home and f*cked both of the vehicles up.  To top it off, I left it out of gas.  Got busted on that one.

 I had a luggage topper on my RV and lost it on route 65 somewhere in Missouri or northern Arkansas.  I went back to look for it, but didn't find it.  I guess it was too light and the straps didn't hold.

Hitting (or being hit by) a bird is rare and kind of impressive.
Many years ago, on a backroad outside of Eugene, Oregon, I ended up hittnig two birds - square on the grill of my car - within about a mile and a half of each other.
Wild, huh?

 My niece and her husband hit a RECLINER on the interstate...pretty much totalled their Ford Focus...some idiot must have had it fall off the back of a pickup or something...fortunately, the only casualty was the Ford (oh yeah...I don't think the recliner worked anymore either).

was riding my harley and a bird either hit me or i hit it . it bounced off my left side chest . i was doing around 65mph . hit a bumble bee with my lip while riding my harley.. must have been from the rear cause it stung me and my lips swelled twice tit normal size. was also going about 65 mph...

Past October, got in from a business trip 4am--cleaned house a bit and went straight to work.  Ran my SUV grill into guard post (surrounding generator)..Asked myself, "where the heck did that come from"?...never noticed it before. 
--Lesson learned: Do not drive when dead tired

 I was getting out of my Solstice and hit the clutch, rolled back into a huge Hummer. I was just getting out to get some gas in my little car.
Needless to say, I did no damage to that huge tank, I sure am glad my husband bought me this car with bumper to bumper repair for 8 years. All fixed looks brand new, the other people not so lucky think all 14 people taken in for being illegal ugh.
