OK, here was the situation. Crowded open gym, every hoop occupied. One hoop had a dad and his 11 year old boy shooting hoops. I come up and take a shot and the dad gets all indignant saying they are using the hoop. I said I thought they were just shooting around and he says, no, they were playing a game. I explained that unless it is a game of 1-on-1 or the like, then the hoops get shared. He got all in a huff and I thought he was going to want to fight. He ended up leaving. So, was I out of line??? Perhaps, in retrospect, I should have asked first, but I think if you want your own hoop just to shoot at, get a hoop and install it in your driveway.
