Some Village is Missing its Idiot (Edited 12/07/09 02:36PM by Jess)
This morning I left the house with my pants on inside out. In my defense, of course they weren't jeans...but you could definitely see the stitching. I had to deposit my check at the bank (went through the drive-thru) and I wanted to hit Starbucks while I was out and there's no drive-thru Starbucks here. I considered the option of NOT going in, but obviously I needed the coffee.

I've also left my purse on top of the car and driven off before. Fortunately some honest guy found it and took it to the Coast Guard station because he saw my ID. This kind of stuff happens to me a lot - I'm just a scatterbrain. I'll be in some real trouble when I get old.

Do you do stupid stuff like this?

I have left my house talking on my cell phone then gone back in to look for it. The whole time I am talking on it.
I also left the house again talking on the phone got half way down the street and it died...I looked and noticed it was the cordless house phone. I no longer have a house phone.

Don't feel bad I do stupid things all of the time!  I have a lot of shoes. If they are on sale I will buy the same pair in  different colors. I was in a rush to get to work one morning.  I realized about half way through the day that I had on one black and one navy blue shoe!

I once drove almost a 6th of the way across the country in the wrong direction.  It wasn't until my buddy woke up from his nap and stated that he thought "the Rocky Mountains would be a little rockier" than they were that I realized it.

I have worn my T-shirt inside out once in a while but i always realize that before i get out of the house.

P.S. I have a mirror just along side the door.

Yes, all the time I look like superman, my panties on my pants...just kidding, that doesn't happen to me very often. Maybe socks in different color but I'm the only one who knows they're different, cos nobody notice that if I'm wearing long pants or boots.

I've gone shirt inside-out or backwards, but I usually wear jeans, so can't imagine going pants inside out.

I do do plenty of dumb things, but nothing compares to a friend of mine that's just hilarious when it comes to his stupid stuff. Mind you, none of this is while under the influence of anything, except maybe sleep:
  • He's slept over at a friends house and is known for always leaving some article of clothing, in the course of a few months he's left; shirts, pants, wallet, shorts, and shoes. Has anyone else honestly ever drove home without noticing they weren't wearing shoes?
  • He's super-glued his eye shut; bottle over his head, and looking to see if any would fall out. And had to drive to the hospital on his own.
  • He's shot himself many times while trying to reload his paintball or AirSoft gun. (Thankfully, he's more careful around real guns.)
  • He's taken out his dog for a walk, and somehow taken another one home that looks nothing like his own.
  • He's tried taking in food or beverages into a movie theater to not pay for it inside, and proceeded to spill everything inside his pants.
What's scary now, is that he happens to have a child now. While he's done some pretty stupid stuff with his son, thankfully he has not harmed his son in any way, that I know of at least.

Oh lord, we went to the Seahawks game against Arizona November of last year and I forgot the tickets to the game at the hotel. Since we were in a hurry my husband took a cab back to the hotel to retrieve them and met us at a little restaurant by the field.

One day when I was in high school I came home and reached in my pocket for my keys.  For me, my wallet goes in one pocket, the keys and phone are in the other.  I didn't feel my keys in my pocket where they normally are and I panicked, thinking I had lost them.  Something told me just for the heck of it to look in the pocket with my wallet, and there they were.  I'm OCD when it comes to what goes where in my pockets, if something isn't where I have it every single day, I think it's gone and I freak out.

My sister was going to a Jimmy Buffet concert, treating a group of her friends. They drove the 4 hours trip to Chicago ... and she had forgot the tickets.

I almost forgot my tickets to Charlott's nascar race, by a quirk of fate I had to go back home for something I had forgot ... and remembered them. I almost drove 10 hours without them. :/

I start work some days at 7 am and the very first day I did so, I was still half asleep when I went to back the car our of the driveway, and realised as I got to the road that I couldn't see the oncoming traffic very well.  I squinted and blinked and sqhinted some more, then realised I was trying to leave without putting in my contacts.  Had to pull back down the driveway and run back into the house to put them in - got to work with one minute to spare when I had planned on being 10 minutes early.

A few years ago i was in my work truck and i stopped off at a gas station to fill up. I went to the first pump and started to pump the gas but nothing was happening, so i went inside to tell the attendant that it didnt work. He told me to go to the pump on the other side, so i got in my truck and drove to the other pump. As i start to get out, this guy is pointing at me and laughing his ass off, so i was like " the f*ck you lauging at?"  I turn around and theres the gas nozzle and and 5 feet of hose hanging off my gas tank. The guy started high fiving me saying that was the funniest thing he had ever seen. I tossed the nozzle on the ground and fled the scene in utter humiilation.

LOL that's hilarious. Whoops.

I worked for a car dealership and sometimes filled the trucks up for customers while the finance guys were finishing up the deal. One time I put regular gas in a diesel - I thought I was so fired but I lucked out. The gods were smiling on me that day - fortunately the truck was bare-bones, no accessories or other special features so they were able to just give the guy a different one. They just had to redo the paperwork because of the VIN. I'm not sure you can even do that anymore; seems the nozzles are different. I don't know though, I live in Oregon and don't pump my own gas anymore.

I was driving while very sleepy and the signal in the intersection ahead of me changed from red to green. I stopped and waited at the green light until it turned red then I drove through. Halfway through the intersection I noticed what I had done, but it was to late. Lucky for me there were no other cars around.

You probably could have played off the thing with the pants inside out.  Kids now a days don't care what they have on.  You could just say it's a new trend.

One time when the boys were younger I was teaching them about mowing the lawn, all the saftey things...Don't reach under while it is running etc.  As I was going over what to mow and NOT to mow, I was not looking and ran over a rose bush on the corner of a flower bed.

One summer the boys and I were having a water gun fight, they had all the good guns so I took the hose and was chasing them around.  As I came around one corner of the house I heard the boys talking so naturally I jumped out and hosed them down.  Only they were in the driveway talking to my wife and her parents......and our pastor.  The boys thought it was hilarious!  I was so embarassed, good thing the pastor has a sense of humor, and he brought it up in a sermon the next Sunday.

I am constanly loosing the remote and finding it in all sorts of odd places.  I once found the downstairs remote in the upstairs closet by my hunting boots.  The wife says it should have a wrist strap and/or a pager on it when I am home alone.

If you remember the old show "Leave it to Beaver" My wife calls me the retarded Ward Cleaver.  Somedays I can not argue.

yes this is right up my alley...i was working in France for 3 months and me and some friends decided to go to spain for a couple of days. After a long ride we get there and stop at a gas station to get gas I like someone else mentioned also likes to put things on top of the car well this time it was my wallet. Hours later at the hotel reception desk I could'nt find the wallet. Me knowing my tendencies knew i had lost it somewhere on a highway in Spain because i left it on top of the car. Well my weekend was shot because I had to rely on friends for everything that weekend cuz I had no money and no way of getting anything not to mention it was almost impossible to get out of Spain with no passport or ID just to go back to France. Four months later while back at home (Tx) I did it again but pulled over and it was still on top of the car.  How's that for a scatterbrain!!
