Give Us a Kiss
Give Us a Kiss Photo'Tis the season for chapped lips.

There's a cold front moving down the coast right now, and for the first time this season, my lips are chapped. UGH! I hate it. Fortunately I have a huge stock of lip balm that works so well I rarely have to reapply it (thus the huge stock). I do keep it all over the house though; in the bathrooms, a kitchen catch-all drawer, end tables, nightstands, my car, my purse, and a basket on the counter, just to name a few places. And yes, I'm picky - I only use Blistex brand, and I rarely use anything that claims to be "medicated". DCT is my balm of choice but I also like some of their other stuff and will use LipMedX if necessary.

What's your preference?

You're probably being delusional, I doubt it's anything severe to worry about like chapped lip.

It's probably just a cold sore or herpes, nothing to worry about ya know

Carmex rules.  It also works good as a lip gloss over lipstick! I like to keep my lips soft.

my lips get chapped whenever seasons change and i use carmex or vaseline only. carmex mainly. but i put the carmex on first AND then lip gloss for soft, non-chapped, not too shiny lips.

burts bees "lifeguard's choice". it makes you look like a fashion reject from 2000, but layer it on before bed when your lips are feeling achy and in the morning they feel great.

If you use an old toothbrush (that you won't use for teeth again) and lightly brush Vaseline on your lips, it helps reduce the chapped areas and moisturizes them quite well.    Then remember your lip balm/chapstick!

PS - I use Carmex, usually ... that stuff is addicting!

I use all of the above.....except Chapstick. I have a stash of lip balms in my classroom for the always present red around the lips ring my students tend to get this time of the year.

Carmex works the best for me, but I have used Burts Bees Wax. When the winter hits Ohio...it's real hard to find Carmex so i usually stock up on it.

For some reason my lips and hands got chapped and/or cracked much more when I lived in Georgia than here in Colorado, even though the former has much more humidity-- it doesn't make sense. I got some Fat Tire branded lip balm at Old Chicago that's sitting in my dresser drawer.

My biggest oral problem is the occasional canker sore, got any recommendations for that?

I have no idea what Carmex is, don't think I've ever seen it (ducks) but Blistex is my fail safe - plus we sell it in the store where I work, so if I forget it, it's only a few steps away.  With the temps in the -30's as it  has been the last few days, I'm using it more than normal

I always keep a stock of Blistex on hand...all varieties.  Also I use Softlips whether my lips are chapped or not...keeps them soft and moist so it cuts down on chapping.
