Power of the written word! (Edited 10/12/10 02:33AM by Jess)
If You meet people anywhere online  or here in the crazy world of Faniq  and You share a poll, a comment, a shout out, a laugh then maybe an email , a chat,  a thought , an idea, a  little of Yourself and Your life.  Soon You are calling each other friend. So You have belief in the words that You share.

Do You then also believe that Your actions, words or lack of words can also HURT the people You interact with online or is it just a game and really who cares in the end i mean isnt is just typing?

I am always sincere when I talk with someone online. I'm always honest and serious, with a little bit of funny mixed in......
Anyone who has talked to me privately will tell you that there is a whole other side to me that rarely comes out.....

I agree.   I have made lots of online friends over the years that I would never have otherwise met.   I don't see any point in lying to someone just b/c you are not talking face to face.

I have a lot of friends online.  I am what I say I am.  However, there have been comments made that I've read or someone told me about that have hurt my feelings.  That is why I am take my time before I let anyone know me very well.

I'm the same either talking face to face or chatting or exchanging e-mails, msgs, etc. everybody deserve my respect. But if there's something that I don't like or I consider inappropriate, I say it and if I have to end a relationship, I do it, just as in my daily life.

Well....we can be anyone we want online...but WHAT'S THE POINT???  Just being yourself....you'll not be liked by EVERYONE, whether face to face or online.  it's much EASIER to be yourself....the personality will show through...

I am also the same on-line as I am in person...although in person, my face is much easier to read than my words are in cyber world. lol

I offer my friendship pretty readily but if I do that means I'm putting my trust in you, online or off, it makes no difference. If you want to take this kind of interaction less seriously, that's your choice. But you should remember that those are real people with real feelings reading your words on the other side, and it's never right to toy with people. The only real difference with me in person is I don't talk so much as everyone here seems to think I do, and I have idiosyncratic habits that will probably annoy the heck out of you, but other than that it's all exactly the same.

i think no matter if you face to face with someone or typing on the computer theres a possiblity of hurting someone bc even though your just typing to them and you haven't met them personally your still having a convosation which includes emotions :)

Thankyou everyone for Your comments , its nice to know that the majority are forthright and honest ....i am the same online as in real life , what You see is what You get as i also dont see the point in acting any differently. Although i may speak a little more when talking to someone directly  maybe not quite as shy. Im a little hard to get to know as i keep pretty much to myself but if any one takes the time to make me speak im direct honest loyal. Oh and have a wicked sense of humour in case You havent read some of my poll comments.  I just wont make the first move in anything and like a small fairy im hard to catch in one place long enough to converse with so glue or rope helps...Smiling.  Thankyou all for Your true thoughtful words.

I am even happier in the real world. I have to hold my tongue here. CoC prevents me from saying what I really think most of the time. I do not disrespect anyone for their opinions, although I do respect the right to disagree. I believe that there are some who think they are above others, which is fine I just steer away from those comments. Here to have fun, do pick ems and post on threads. Not here looking for what I already have. I love to laugh, tease and have fun, just not at others expense.
