Will the Rangers have new ownership for the 2010 season?

Tom Hicks is trying to hold on to the Rangers but it looks like his grip is slipping. Will the Rangers have new owners in 2010?

Did it ever occur to you that not spending may not be a function of the owner but more a function of how much money the team makes? Or that he screwed the pooch in the past by overspending that got his team nowhere and only sucked more money out of his own pocket? And that if the team gets a new owner that owner won't spend beyond his means any more than Hicks did lately?

My issue with Hicks is that he's more worried about his other investments than the rangers. I don't think he knows a heck of a lot about baseball, and not that an owner really has to know a lot about the sport but I think it's more of a handicap for Hicks that it would be for other owners.

I have found that most owners buy sports teams for one of two reasons. They have a huge ego and want their name in the papers every day or they do it out of civic pride. But... Even if they did it out of civic pride, that doesn't mean they are willing to lose money year after year. It means they will do all they can to win, but don't want to go broke doing it. Which side do you think Hicks falls into?
