Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus, right down Memory Lane...
We all have them...presents we wanted BAD as a child and Santa held out on us.

We also have our best Christmases ever as children when Santa brought exactly what our little hearts desired.

As adults, I'm sure we all have our favorite Christmas memories as well.

What are yours?

Christmas depresses the **** out of me these days, but I'm working on it. I was lucky as a child, always got something cool for Christmas. A guitar, ten-speed bike, and a movie projector thing that I would show slides of cartoons on the ceiling are three things that come to mind. As an adult, all the Christmases when my children  were young were special to me. Now I spend a morning with the daughters and S/Os close to Christmas where I bake quiches and key lime pies and we just hang out. I didn't think much about it, but I have found out that they enjoy it and consider it a pretty cool 'tradition'. Jess, I gave my oldest daughter a Spirograph thing one Christmas, those friggin' gears would pop out every time you were close to finishing, your pen would go all over your drawing and just totally mess up the whole thing. Believe me, you are a better person for not receiving one of those.

I have so many dirty responses for all the questions, but out of respect for Jess I will keep my "Adult" thoughts to myself. Self control is a difficult thing for me I better move on to the next poll.......

My B-Day is Dec, 28. It sucked / sucks. Shout-out to my girls Jeni, Coco, Jules and Bowes for makin' it good! If you have to hire someone make it college girls. Seriously. They are crazy, but in a good way. I love 'em!

1 - I always wanted one of those Spirograph things. Do you remember those? But, I never got one :(

2 - One year I *really* wanted a typewriter. Yes I'm old...but Santa brought me one. I used the crap out of that thing too - I wrote stories and articles like crazy when I was in jr. high and high school.

3 - I have such amazing friends and family. So many of them have made things and done things for me that I couldn't possibly narrow it down to just one that was the best.

4 - One year my parents were in the middle of moving away from my childhood home, and I was staying in the house while they tried to sell it from out of town. My parents lived in a trailer on site where my dad was building a lodge at a resort. They wanted to spend the holidays together with the whole family, but my brother and I couldn't get over to them and my dad was working up until Christmas Eve so they couldn't make it home until morning. So, my husband (then boyfriend) and I went out and got a tree on Christmas Eve, my brother came and stayed with us and helped put it up. Our parents came home to an entirely decorated house with a fire crackling in the fireplace in the morning with their kids both waiting. My dad was so excited he got choked up - he always loved Christmas. That's one of my favorite memories, because something we kids did made them so happy.

When i was 13 our home burned, we were at the river swimming and only had our bathing suits on and we lost everything.  That Christmas i wanted a new watch to replace the one i had lost in the fire.  Well with 5 kids, building a new home and furnishing it, money was tight.  i got my birthstone ring instead.  I couldn't hide my disappointment.  My mother felt bad about that for years to come.

My best one was  when i got my bike.  I was about 11 or 12 and i remember going to a neighbors house and seeing the bike before Christmas  but i still didn't put it together.  I just thought Santa picked it up there and brought it to me.  I loved that bike even if it was used.

Christmas was always a big deal at our house.

 1. I wanted some of the big game systems but I never got them.  My best friend had every one ever made though, so when I went to his house I forgot about the fact that my parents were what I thought to be cheapskates at that age.

2. I wanted a new bike and got it, and that was around the time I started getting suspicious about Santa.  My mom hid the bike at her friend's house and on Christmas Eve brought it home and hit it downstairs in the basement.

3. Maybe not "thoughtful" but definitely "wonderful," one of my friends bought me "1001 Drinking Games" a couple years ago.

4. My best memory as an adult certainly had to be last year when I got to go with my college friends up to NYC for New Year's.

My birthday is the 19th, Ya know, Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas gifts combo package.  That sucks.
I always asked for the  giant dollhouse in the Sears Wishbook never got it-   One year I got a bike (rode if all over in the snow)
Best Christmas was when my dad had Santa come to our house and kept me believing for another year.

Merry Chrismas to everyone, hug the people you love, and tolerate the ones you have to see.

I was a spoiled child, really didn't want for anything.

Favorite gift as a kid, was a 10 speed bike.

AS an adult, I have  a special photograph given me by one of my very best friends.

My favorite memory:
When I was a kid, My grandparents used to code our presents A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 etc..with the last gift having a tag that said The End.
You could not open anything in the series, without having all of them, and my Grandad used to drag that out unmercifully. Looking back at it now, we had so much fun complaining and laughing, and begging!
