We can only hope

I don't expect Favre to make the same mistakes he's made the past couple of years. I think he'll be fine because he plays in a dome, and the team around him has more talent than he's been used to in recent years. He just has to manage the game, he doesn't have to win it.
No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl
#3 | 1584 days ago

Hey dannyboy, why you wanna pick on a 40 year old man? You jealous? Is your team not gonna make the playoffs? Or are you one of those bandwagon jumpers that are behind the Saints or Colts? Wassup? Don't be hatin'.
No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl

I think you need more answer choices for this poll.  I don't necessarily think Favre is going to throw games away or get hurt.  However, I'm not ready to place the Vikes in the Super Bowl just yet, and with the year that Manning and Brees are having, I don't see him winning MVP, either, although I think he should be a top finisher.

I guess I have a "sub"-question.  Does Favre have to win MVP and/or the Vikings win the Super Bowl in order for their season to have been successful?
#5 | 1584 days ago

I created this poll just to see what people thought about favre heading into the playoffs. There are people who think he'll steadily decline starting in December, and then there's people who expect him to continue his stellar year he's having.

No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl

screw this question. GO BRETT FAVRE!

My team will make the playoffs. I am tired of Favre and his waffling. But then again MY team didnt need to bring in a 40 y/o QB who hasnt been consistent in the playoffs since 1997 to win a Super Bowl! Plus if you would look at my profile you whould know who my team is.
#8 | 1584 days ago

This question wasn't aimed at Brett Favre's demise! lol.... I just wanted people's opinions. I'm a Vikings fan and I made the poll. Pay attention next time!!

Maybe I'm missing something. I looked at your profile to see your favorite team, and it appears to be Denver.  Then I looked once more at your comment, "But then again MY team didnt need to bring in a 40 y/o QB who hasn't been consistent in the playoffs since 1997 to win a Super Bowl!", and I got curious...didn't your team's 2 SB victories come under the leadership of John Elway, who was around 37-38 when he finally won the big game?  Wasn't Elway a Bronco his entire career, who led his team to a SB loss before finally winning two?
I don't mean to belittle Elway's accomplishments; I think he was one of the best QBs ever. I just don't see where you're coming from.  Am I misunderstanding?

actually minn. is probably the tem to beat right now >  loosing Favre would help my Saints....Nothing seroius . A cold or flu or a relapse

would love to agree . Yet minn is the team to beat >  I'm not a Vikings fan .

Elway was a Bronco for  16 years. Favre had to be  brought into the Vikings because they cant get to a Super Bowl let alone win one
#13 | 1583 days ago

Where's the other option?  I don't think he will self-destruct in December, but I think he might in January in the playoffs.  The way things are going, the Vikings may very well end up playing the Eagles in their first playoff game (round 2), and that might do them in (see Favre's last few meetings against the Eagles in the playoffs, as well as last year's opening round Vikings-Eagles matchup).
He will make it to the NFC Chamionship and lose

are you talking to me? I was paying attention and the question sucks. I am a vikings fan so i really dont like to see other viking fans putting anything negative out there. Sounded more like a brett favre hater question so maybe you should have given more info when you asked the question. and next time what? are you going to ask another anti-Brett question in the middle of a play off run.  Be supportive or be quiet.

I am supportive. It's a valid question. Stop being so hostile and watch more football. Brett has a track record of falling down in December. As a Vikings fan i absolutley hope it's not true even though he's throwing more picks lately, but I think he'll be fine. If you looked to see what i voted for then you would have seen that. Stop being so agressive and just vote. The question was meant to gather opinions about Brett Favre, not be totally biased towards all Vikings Fans.

Wouldn't that also mean Elway was a Bronco for 14 long years before they won the Super Bowl?   The Vikings have been to the Super Bowl 4 times.  We have yet to see if signing Favre will get them back there, but I feel certain he gives them a better chance than Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson would have.  I don't see a reason to fault them for making a move they hope will get them back to the Super Bowl.  You would prefer your team did nothing if they find themselves in the same situation?!

Alex......i remember when you really didnt like favre, you respected him butdidnt like em....now boom you do like em cuz hes a viking which is fine but never the less hes not MVP material compared to other players, people say cutler sucks but if he was on the vikings with that O line He would have a better chance

Bry.....you're right. I didn't like him when he played for the Packers but i respected him. But what is your point? I dont understand how this connects to Cutler and the Bears???? I've never said Cutler sucks.... however he is too careless with the ball sometimes. I admit Favre would do nothing with the Bears line as well, but so what. That has nothing to do with my question.... I'm wondering if you think Favre will be just fine heading into the playoffs or will he start to hit that wall that everyone is talking about?

Dude, your team MIGHT make the playoffs, and I wish them luck. They're gonna need it with Kyle Orton. I'd rather have a 50 year old QB than Orton. Some of you folks need to recall that Cutler is a Chicago Bear now and the Broncos' QB is Kyle Orton!
No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl

I agree, Orton will not lose games for you, but he wont win them for you either. Rather have my old guy.

If  Mark Rypien, Dilfer can win a Super Bowl its not out of the question Denver can. But I hold no delusions that they will this year.

not  100% correct, Alex. Orton has lost his share with picks.
No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl

Well if you're talking about his days with the bears..... he didn't have much to work with. So his picks were mostly a result of trying to make something happen, much like Jay Cutler. But in Denver he has talent around him, and it's unlikely that he will single handedly lose a game for them. But i agree that he's not a top tier qb if that's what you're hinting
No, he will lead the VIkings to the super bowl
#26 | 1583 days ago

That's exactly what I'm saying. He has lost games with Chicago and Denver with picks and/or fumbles. But I'm not saying he is the only one by any stretch, just one of many that have done the same thing, including Favre. Orton just has done it too often. I wouldn't want him as my QB. If you want to get someone good about the same level or above, give me Joe Flacco of the Ravens.

did you just tell me to watch more football? you dont know me!! I've followed Brett his whole career  and I can be pretty sure based on these comments alone that I watch waaay more football than you. i've literally been watching football my whole life. nothing you've said has anything to do with what I said. Just in case, I don't want Ashlie (kobe_lova) thinking I'm in on this Favre-free-for-all.  All I meant in my previous comment was I wouldn't want to get on her bad side regarding Brett Favre!  I'm staying the he!! out of her way in that regard, for sure.

However, I'd also like to say that I've been impressed with Favre's play this year.  I don't think he needs me or Ashlie to defend him all that much.  I don't mean to be redundant, but my previous question wasn't answered...

don't argue with this person he's a broncos fan they traded a good qb who was progressing, for someone who they can only hope don't screw things up. lol at least the vikings got a winner not a scrub from the bears.
Yes, he will throw games away
#36 | 1578 days ago

i just want to clarify my answer i don't necessarily think he will throw games away, but i do think his performance will fall from the high level it has been all year. that being said even at the lowest i think it will go its still better than most NFL teams have to offer. I'm not what you would call a Favre fan but anyone who loves football can't say they don't like watching him. he plays with so much passion for the game. and if my Cowboys can't make it to the bowl i'm rooting for the Vikings. and if they can keep the running game going. with the young talented receivers they have they very well could make it.

I would LOVE to believe that Brett has the wherewithal to know all that's going on around him, about him, and rise above it all with the sheer talent, passion, and heart that we all know he has, and once and for all, SILENCE all his critics!!! GO VIKINGS!!!!!
