Paramore (Edited 12/16/09 11:46PM by Seth)
Paramore (Edited 12/16/09 11:46PM by Seth) Photo

In an attempt to broaden FanIQ's (and my) music appreciation, I'm going to create a series of polls about various bands, some famous, some not so, and some you may have never heard of.
Your job is to let the other members of the Q know what songs that absolutely must have plus the songs they may not have heard before.
If someone already mentioned a song you were going to say, say it again or give it some respect. The recommendations a song gets the more people know which songs are really worth checking out.
And if you hate the band of have no clue who they are, I'll have an option for you too.

I am obsessed with this band - I have all of their stuff (even a cover of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" that they did). It would be really hard for me to pick out one song that is a "must", because I love them so much.
If I have to pick, my favorites are probably ...
from All We Know is Falling:
Brighter
Emergency
Brick by Boring Brick

from Riot:
For a Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic
Misery Business (both the acoustic and original are awesome)
Crushcrushcrush
Born for This
That's What You Get

from Brand New Eyes:
Ignorance
Careful
Misguided Ghosts (a little different than their other stuff)
Looking Up

Also, Decode from the Twilight soundtrack is good - I Caught Myself by them is also on that cd but I think Decode is just a better song.

If you like them, I'd say Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, The Donnas (Kenne's dead-on)
1. This song. 2. This song. 3. These guys.

Never bought one of the CDs or albums or even listened to them, but I do end up liking every one of their songs on the radio.
#2 | 1246 days ago

I work with people younger than me and they play music all the time, so I'm constantly asking them, "Who is that? I like it?" Paramore. I've never bought an album, but i have bought singles on iTunes.

I saw them over the summer when they opened for no doubt and they sound even better live . Here's hoping for much more success for them.

Brick By Boring Brick is from BNE.

All We Know is Falling is definitely their best album.

Their best songs IMO are Brighter, My Heart, hell... everything from that album, Miracle, All I Wanted, Looking Up, Decode, plus they did a really good cover of "My Hero" by the Foo Fighters.

Evanescence and Eyes Set to Kill are two other really good bands with female singers.

Whoops you're right - I added that one late and popped it up into the wrong CD.
I go through phases - sometimes my favorite of theirs is All We Know is Falling, and sometimes it's Riot, and then sometimes it's Brand New Eyes - it just depends on my mood. Each of their albums has a little bit different sound than the others, but they're all excellent.

I'll have to check out their cover of My Hero - I did not know that.
I've also never heard of Eyes Set to Kill. I'll be looking them up :)

ESTK is a lot more metal than Paramore, but they bring out emotion.

I've never really gotten into Riot!, but the other two albums are really good.

I've never heard their music, but my SON has partied with their lead singer...he's been in a band that played "Warped Tour" and got to know her pretty well...still texts her occasionally...
