Betting 10 cents on a game with friends is one thing....  It's fun and it's only ten cents.  Betting 5 or 10 or more is not fun for me.


It's kind of like going to a casino, you have people who go with an evenings spending money, play .25 slots some black jack, have fun with their friends...   That's me.

And then you have the poor sucker who goes in with half his paycheck, sits at a table with people he doesn't know but calls them his friends anyway, blows all his money or maybe makes a few bucks...  If that's me, someone shoot me.



Gambling can start out fun, and end up destructive and addictive.  So no, even if if was legal for me to participate (It's not because I live in Iowa) I wouldn't.  Maybe a game or two with a friend, but it's too much of a slippery slope, I don't want to go down it....

   IMHO , its suppose to be fun , if you have to be worried about losing money it becomes a chore .

I would not want to challenge someone for cash and have them feel obligated, nor do I want to be the one that has to explain it just
isn't in my budget this week. To some 5 or 10 bucks may not mean a lot, but for me it may mean getting to the next payday.

if we were playing for Beers I am in....

I wouldn't play for Money even if it was a small amount. My needs in my personal Life always seem to exceed my income. Maybe when I win the Lottery I would play for cash.

  Risking 10 dollars to win 6? It takes a 62.5% winning percentage just to break even. Its just not worth it.

Better to allocate that money to something that will net you more money in the long run.
