Which NHL Team Is The Team Of The Decade?
You can vote for an "other" if you want, but the teams listed are the teams who have won a Stanley Cup in the 2000's. Pick the one that you think is the "team of the decade", by whichever standards you see fit.

Avalanche...they seemed to be the most consistent throughout the decade, but wouldn't argue the Penquins or Red Wings.

Wings are not only the team of the decade, but they deserve to be the team for all time.

This is the Red Wings by a landslide. 2 Stanley Cups, 2002, and 2008, 3 Stanley Cup Finals appearances, 4 Western Conference Finals appearances. The 2002 Cup Champions are considered one of the NHL's best, winning the Presidents Trophy with 116 points. The 2008 Cup Champs finished with 115 points, and again, won the Presidents Trophy. The Red Wings won four Presidents Trophy's in the decade, no other team won more than one. The Red Wings are the most successful U.S. team, dominating off the ice as well, with a unparalleled fan base, and the highest national television ratings of any other NHL team.
The Red Wings are the team of the decade, and the victory is in regulation, no OT, or shoot-out needed.

The Avalanche have been down the past few years and the Penguins didn't matter until three or so years ago. The The Red Wings, on the other hand, have been consistently dominant, making the playoffs every year (although they're on the fringe right now, but the Western Conference is so competitive, they'll be around the whole year. Too bad their game wasn't on TV last night).

That fanbase is having a tough time making it to the games of late as noted by all of the fans dressed as empty seats.  Detroit has been a great team in the last 10 years, but are really feeling the effects of the tough economy with the building very empty looking for every home game.

As much as I hate them, you're absolutely right that the Wings are the team of this decade, but for all-time, the Habs and their 24 Stanley Cups would like to speak to you.

It pains me to say this but the Wings are the team of the decade.

(However, I don't see this carrying over to the next decade. Whoo hoo! )

Yeah, it's the Wings.

Which makes my wife very happy. And makes me cringe when we see them play here in Denver and she's shouting "Let's go Red Wings."

No Brainer it has to be the Red Wings.  Consistently superior throughout the decade.  Let's not count them out this season either.  I am no Detroit fan; they have shellacked the Hawks too many times to count this decade.  But, any realist must admit the Wings ruled the 2000's.

Since the Capitals were not there I picked other.

Yes...  *sigh*   It's the Wings.

And I sigh not because I hate the Wings.  It's more like I'm sick of the Wings winning all the time!
