Which NFL players do you feel could retire today and make the Hall Of Fame?
I was having a discussion with one of my buddies about how there are so many great players that just will not be able to be members of the pro-football Hall of Fame. From this, we started talking about active players that would make the hall if they retired today. We threw around names back and forth, thinking about what actually makes a HOFer. Do they have to have a ring? How about career longevity? Are off-the-field issues Incorporated into the decision?  What about who they played against? All of these should probably be considered when judging Hall of Fame players, along with numerous other aspects of their career. So my question to you is, which NFL players do you think could retire today and have a seat waiting for them in Canton?

London Fletcher. There ya go. One of the best linebackers in the league today without a ring or Pro Bowl. Deserves it more than most but will likely never get inducted. It's a shame to see a guy work SO HARD and not get recognized for it. Shame on people for not rewarding him with his WELL DESERVED Pro Bowls.

Tell me about it, it sounds like he suffers from a severe case of "Fred Taylor Syndrome."

I'm happy to see McNabb get so much respect in here.  A lot of my fellow Eagles fans wanna complain about him all the time but he's among the elite and even though we have not won it all, YET, the Eagles would have probably never sniffed it without him.

Yeah, I can't believe how many Eagles fans complain about McNabb!  My dad was just complaining about him to me earlier today, and everytime he loses a game (or even wins one) he finds a way to call him a bum.  He's probably one of the best QBs this towns ever seen, yet still doesn't get respect from a lot of the fans.

McNabb has been disrespected by many in the Phan base since he was booed when he was picked, I hope race is not a factor, he's a classy guy and a tough one, he deserves the hall as does:
Brett Favre
Peyton Manning
Ray Lewis
Randy Moss
Orlando Pace
Ty Law
Champ Bailey
Tom Brady
LaDainian Tomlinson
Torry Holt
Walter Jones
Tony Gonzalez
Ed Reed
Charles Woodson
Steve Hutchinson
Darren Sharper
Brian Dawkins
Kurt Warner
Jason Taylor
Terrell Owens
Isaac Bruce
Urlacher just was not elite long enough, Barber was not flashy enough and though he deserves to get in Kenny Riley's not in and Barber's no where close to Riley as a CB.
Owens, Bruce and Holt and perhaps even Hines Ward will get in but it will take a while, Moss is the only 1st ballot WR playing now.
But I am shocked  Junior Seau has not been mentioned.

Arrgh...lol..tell you what? Ask some of the top Falcons fans on this site what they think of Keith Brooking.
Remember this is the Hall of Fame, Are you seriously going to induct Keith Brooking and put him next to Dick Butkus, Sam Huff, Ray Lewis, and Mike Singletary?...really?
Hell, I'd put Hardy Nickerson in before Brooking
#30 | 1421 days ago

True you have a good point on that one..........he may not be a HOF but Brooking is a great football player in mind!
