2010 Predictions (Edited 12/31/09 08:02PM by Chief_aka_James)
Every year seems to get a little stranger, the only thing you can count on is that things will not stay the same.

Change did not seem to work in 2009, do you think things will turn around this year or get worse?

What do you think the major changes will be for our nation this year?

Funny thing about us humans, we are constantly changing the first couple of years of our Life, but then we spend the majority of the rest of it trying to avoid it. WTF?

If this is in regard to the economy, government, et al, do people really think change of any kind can happen within a year?  When it comes to things as complicated as a recession (mini-depression) things will NOT change overnight..  Just like it took years of errors and fiscal irresponsibility by the public and by banks to set us down this course to the point of public awareness and turmoil, it will not be fixed in a matter of several weeks..
I'm just gonna stop before my head starts hurting trying to deal with this for the 90000th time.. It doesn't matter if Jesus was elected president, we're in a sh*tstorm that isn't easy to get out of

Nope had nothing to do with the government, but well said.

I am predicting we will find some peace, and there will be a great thing happen to make everyone think hmmmm.

Heck, anyone can make "gutsy" calls, I like those few and far between calls that are right more often though.
#20 | 1239 days ago

I predict the nation will see a new congress in Nov..  Maybe then they will believe the American people.  I predict there will be great distress in Mexico.  I predict regardless of whether it is true or not we will be getting   things Al Gore wants because it will bring new jobs  but with it is coming increased costs such as this country has never seen.  Inflation is going thru the roof.  That's enough of the bad stuff.  I predict the American people are turning back to  their core values.  Amen

I'd love to talk to Joe, but I was just merely saying I'm not so much a fan of making the same prediction year after year, and it somehow still be considered "gutsy" for it.

I hear ya. Shoot me. Im a hungry homer.

And just for the record I don't predict that every year. I didn't even post that on here this last year, but I did predict we would make the playoffs. People are putting words in my mouth.

Naw, no arguments here, I'm a homer too and will always put the Twins and Cardinals in the WS before the season starts.

Have a good New Year's and if you're looking for San Francisco Giants discussion, you can debate with this lovely Yankee homer here who made the quote today that the Orioles are better than the Giants at this point...

I might have to look at that. Happy New Year to you too.

Premium "Pay-per-View" YouTube (that live U2 thing was a test run), tablets are the new laptops (dell & apple), 3D video games, we find out Bin Laden's been dead for years (unfortunately natural causes), China buys an NFL team, Drive-in's make a comeback, Tiger Woods sweeps majors & "accidentally" kills hooker (which kinda goes unnoticed because he's so awesome at golf), Queen of England dies, life on Europa ends up being really anticlimactic, #1 movie at the box office ends up being one of those fake Tracy Morgan movies from 30 Rock, Tiger kills another hooker (but since he takes time off from Golf to play for the White Sox - it gets buried, again), a WNBA Hall of Fame (just kidding, I have the WNBA in a dead pool), broadcast execution on HBO (Larry Merchant interviews corpse), Olympic weed scandal involving Bob Costas... and some other stuff.

I hate to be the downer here but i believe that we are going to face some interesting stuff.
1. 20% + unemployment
2. Taxrates through the roof
3. 50% + people on some kind of goverment subsudy
4. currently 48% of the people that claim to have income and pay taxes on thet are providing the tax revinue for the res of the nation. This will declin to 40% - by 2011
5. Health care reform will be our down fall

NOTE* this is the same patten that the Roman empire went down before they fell. (not saying that we are going to get concered here)
