Skip to Next Poll » United States vs. Austria - U-20 World Cup Quarterfinals Live Comment Thread
Today we are going to continue our little experiment. How obscure of a live comment thread can we create and still have people show up? There must be some point where I will end up talking to myself, but judging by the turnout we had for the Nathan's 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest comment thread, we obviously have not yet reached that basement of obscurity.Today's event: The U-20 World Cup Quarterfinals matchup between the United States and Austria The U.S. team stormed through the group stage at the 2007 U-20 World Cup in Canada, finishing first in their group after a big win vs. Brazil. In their round of 16 match vs. Uruguay, they gave their fans heart attacks after falling behind 1-0 late in the match. However, an own goal by Uruguay tied the match up in the 87th minute. The game then went to extra time, where Michael Bradley was the hero in the 107th minute. So far, the United States team has looked very impressive overall. Several players, such as Freddy Adu, Michael Bradley, Danny Szetela and Jozy Altidore have raised their stock through their play in the tournament. If all goes according to plan, you will be hearing much more about them in the coming years as they make their way up to the National Team and play in the World Cup. Why not watch and learn about these guys now so you can look like a know-it-all when these guys make it big? The match today against Austria is being shown on ESPNU and Telefutura at 2:15 Eastern (11:15 Pacific). Join us in the comment thread below, where we will hopefully be proving that there is no sporting event too small for us to talk about on the Q.
