Boys Will Be Boys!

Have you ever noticed that if a man has a scar on his face, it will be found in one of the following locations?

  • Eyebrow
  • Just under the chin
  • In the “dent” between the lower lip and the chin
  • Outer edges of forehead
  • Somewhere close to the lips (the corner of mouth is popular)

If you ask him where he got the scar, he’ll invariably laugh and say something like:

“I wish I could say I got this in a fight but…Followed by something along the lines of:

“I was about 4 years old and not looking where I was going and I ran into the coffee table…”
“I fell out of my high chair and split my chin…”
“I was just a kid and I ran/tripped/fell…

The general idea seems to be that little boys run around without looking where they are going.

They are usually looking behind themselves while running headlong away from someone. Which is why they end up smacking the side of their head into the edges of coffee tables, counters, doorways.

Boys also like to try anything with the warning: “Don’t do that! It might put out your eye!”

This only fuels their desire for a BB gun, slingshot, and anything that involves blowing things up or setting something on fire.

Boys will be boys.

Boys will be boys and boys grow up to be men.

I’ve dated a couple of eyebrow scars, a corner-of-lip scar, and 2 just-under-the-chin scars.

Gotta love ‘em. Scars and all.

Guys: Do you have a scar on your face and did you get it when you were a boy?

Gals: Am I right? And if you have a little boy, did he smack himself upside the head?

I have a couple of little scars on my face, fortunately I've been able to grow some facial hair to help conceal them...

I've got one in the middle of my forehead.. As a clumsy 2 year old, I was running around on the deck, tripped and did a header on one of those little hibachi bbq grills..  I got another one from a nail in a fence when I was younger, and I caught a stick above my eye playing hockey a couple years ago

The following is a true story.  Only the names have been changed, to protect the guilty.

I had a friend several years ago that had a head that was shaped like a bean.  This wasn't one of those things that was easily ignored, if you know what I mean.  He had been in a bicycle wreck when he was about 4 years old, and it shattered his cheek bone.  Well, that side of his head never grew after that, but the other side did.  The result was a very obvious bean shaped noggin.  He and I used to frequent the local taverns together, and invariably, some female (usually smokin hot for some reason) would approach this Quasimoto looking F*ck, and ask him what happened to his head.  Now, my buddy was indeed a veteran of the first Gulf War, and he used it to his advantage.  Every time there was an inquiry from the fairer sex regarding the kidney shaped cranium, it was a different story...land mines, tank turrets, you name it.  Hook, line and sinker they bit.  One after another, and every time all I could do was facepalm and drink another beer.  God I loved that guy.

I have one on my left eyelid. I got it when I was about 15 from being too stoned and not seeing that low hanging branch with the 2 inch needle thorns.

Well, I really only have two scars on my head (and neither are that noticeable anymore).  The first one was just above my eye, but that's because my brother dropped me down the stairs when I was a baby, and I had to get a ton of stitches (I know, that explains a lot, right?).  The second one isn't quite so cool:  I had a mole removed from my chin, and there's a small scar there now.

None of this was really from my boyhood though.  I have a few scars over the rest of my body though; I guess you can count those.

I Think girls get scars as much as boys do. I got one on my eyebrow when I was like 6, my brother and I were playing with real machetes and I lost . Wasn't big and can bearly see it. I got some fireworks exploding in my hand (no damages fortunately) one day we were tossing sparkles from one side of the stree to other and one hit me just in the eyelid. Those are the consequences of growing up among boys mainly.

Many scars and over 100 stitches on my body but none of them on my face.  Everything from swingsets, to garden forks to pencil lead to axes and knives.  Active boy in an all boy neighborhood.

When I had my son I thought how many times he would get hurt.  He's taken falls from his skateboard, out of a tree, and a bicycle jump gone wrong.  I just thank GOD that there has not been any scars or broken bones!  This is the first boy on my side of the family for 3 generations.  So I was use to dealing with little girls.  A boy is very different!

i have no kiddos but i do have a fair amount of dents and dings. only one on my face is just under the pout of my bottom lip so thankfully it's pretty hidden, but i was running around - not looking where i was going, well, actually i was blindfolded - and ran into a door frame making my brand new two front teeth go right through my lip. the scar actully looks very similar to the backside of a staple.

scar above right eyebrow. got it 15 years ago. my son, who used to get "night terrors" had an episode when we were on vacation staying in an old cramped cabin. a blood curdling scream from the little s.o.b. and i jumped up like i'd been shot from a cannon. forgot that there was a book shelf hanging on the wall about 3 feet above the mattress. hit the corner of it solidly. like a cartoon i saw stars on my rapid descent to the pillow. i woke up to the sound of the family laughing about what had happened. a gash and a huge knot.  real funny now but not back then.

My little brother has the scar mentioned above between his lower lip and his chin. He was a little boy and split it open with his teeth, falling on something.

I have a ton of scars, two on my face from when I was younger. One right under my eyebrow (bit by a dog), and one on my cheek under the other eye (ran into the side of a swimming pool). The rest are on my legs and arms - I was a bit accident prone myself.

I have twin boys and let me tell u that i have spent many nights in the ER or Dr office. After a while i learned how to butterfly James head every time he decided to do a flip, head dive or what ever stunt he was trying to pull off. They(The Twins) got boxing gloves for Christmas when they were 5 years old and first James punched out Travis front teeth and a week later Travis punched out James front teeth. God i could go on for hours about those 2. Thank god i survived it all and them as well.

I have so many scars on my face it looks as if I lost a battle against an ice pick.  Scar on bridge of nose from being hit with a shot glass, a big one of my left cheek from a fly over handle bars of dirt bike accident, one of the right cheek from being hit with a 2 +4.  Lots of scars from stupid stuff,  though none from my boxing action as of yet.

I have scar on my forehead, to remind me of being a "brave" officer leading from the front, of an injury of mortar splinter,in the service to the nation in armed forces, more importantly, to remind me that the boys who fought the enemies, cared for my living, took my half dead body, against all odds to  base hospital, with bleeding wounds, now typing this on this site, saluting them for being brave in true spiriit of the word.
Earlier I would cover the scar / wound to hide it from my wifey, whom I married later, but now, it does not matter, as I am balding.!
