Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a wildly underrated movie. It's really woerd and funny and kinda touching. I'm glad it made a lot of best of the decade lists. it's easily his best film, imo.

I like that movie too. I also enjoyed to see Frodo, sorry, Elijah Wood playing Patrick, we are used to see him as a good boy the most of times. I like Jim Carrey I always have a good laugh with his films. The one I have liked the least is cable guy.

I still like Ace slightly, slightly better than Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but definitely Carrey's role in it was his best that I've seen.

In Living Color was funnier than any movie he's been in.

I still think he's at his best in corny, wacky comedies.  I have a hard time deciding if I liked "Cable Guy" or "Dumb and Dumber" better.  Both are movies that I find hysterical to this day and quote/reference a LOT with my friends.

Dumb and Dumber is tough to top for me, but the basketball scene in Cable Guy where he was warming up with suicides was priceless.  I was literally in stitches the first time I saw that.

I love Jim Carrey but have never ever watched more than 5 minutes of Dumb and Dumber. I am great also if I never see either Ace Ventura movie again. I love all of the rest. the Mask is probably the one I watched more than any other growing up followed by Liar LIar. Now it's Fun with Dick and Jane.

I agree. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind & The Number 23 are two great flicks, and anyone who hasn't seen them...should. Jim Carrey is a great actor in a serious role, and highly underrated. Anyone who doesn't have anything good to say about him should see these two flicks. Their opinions will be different then.

I actually liked Yes Man also. Might not have been one of his best, but I enjoyed watching it.

Agreed. I actually can't stand slapstick comedy (well, anything too slapstick) and don't really care for him in much else he's in. Fun with Dick and Jane is pretty cute but that's about it for the comedies. These two movies are outstanding, and I think Jim Carrey doesn't get enough credit for what a great actor he is because of the silly stuff he does so often (and admittedly, well). Anyone who can't stand him should definitely at least give these two movies a shot.

One of the more macabre characters of Carrey's enormous repertoire, and one of his funniest. You have to really love comedy for some of his stuff, but it's that way with ANY comedian. A sign that they have touched a nerve is a sign that that comedian has made it. I know it may be a little sexist, but I just crack up when I think of his line from Me, Myself and Irene. He's the cashier and gets on the PA system when he needs a "price check on Vagi-Clean!" Yeah, I know, but it's funny as hell!

I have found 'Yes Man' to be an enjoyable movie, so that's my other.

I thought he was really effective as Truman Burbank in 'The Truman Show', and also as Peter/Luke in 'The Majestic'.
