Is Brett Favre finally done?
Another big game, another big pick. Favre is a great QB, but he sure has a funny way of throwing a huge interception when you least expect it. My question is this. Was that the last throw of Brett Favre's career?

He has been "done" for years, in the sense that he is no longer as productive as people believe he is, and he costs his team big games. But HE will never admit that, so I think he'll be back for another year. His ego is far too enormous for him to go out gracefully.

I think he will be in a Carolina Panthers uniform next season- just saying!  He will abandon the Vikings and say it's a personal issue between him and Childress!

Wow how riveting.  More people talking about how tired they are about hearing about Brett Favre.  Awesome.  Talk about loathsome.

How is he no longer as productive as people think? This was statistically the BEST season of his career. . .

Statistically, yes it was. But in the end, he directly contributed to their loss. Not sure if you've been paying attention, but that's three years in a row that he has had "good" seasons, and finished in a flurry of interceptions.

His numbers were good because he was surrounded by a stellar team... possibly the best he has ever had. But in the end, he was still the same old Brett, arm punting away the victory.

"far to enormous..."   ---  (Far too) maybe?    Said the equal opportunity language critic.          Of course this in no way implies that I disagree with your basic assertion.

Sorry about that. The two/to/too thing is a pet peeve of mine, and I thank you for correcting me on that. You're doing the Lord's work, and I commend you for it. Seriously.

De Nada.     BTW   Is this photo legit, or was it photoshoped to make it look as though he's shooting himself a bird?

The fact if he's one and done is "pointless" at best....any fan of the vikes is grateful for the magic that Brett brought us and having us believe and almost achieve a dream we've been holding on too for years means nothing to a real fan. A loss is a loss true, but on realness of the game the Saints came in with a plan to cripple Brett..."hey that's the game!"...no crying here.  After that devastating hit and seeing Brett on the sidelines in pain....I knew it was over right then....less than 10 minutes later however Brett was back in the game helping to throw two more strikes and bring the score to 28-28.  Brett carried the Vikes on his back and was very humble from beginning to the end of the season....from "why" do the vikes want him...to they look like the best in the NFC....to things are falling apart in Minnesota with coach and player...to Dallas is the team to beat...to maybe he has one more Superbowl in him....to same ol Brett....whatever.  The reason why Brett chose to play and most of the "true" fans know....we love our players and what they bring to the game.  I will tolerate a season of hearing about Brett any day other than half of these so called quarterbacks who's fans are ready to throw them to wolves every other year....4 plus turnovers do not win games I don't care who you are...we were not sliced and diced by Reggie, drew, or sharper...we lost in over time in a hard fought game.  If we don't have Brett we'll be ok...maybe, but I for one like most die hard fans love a warrior....and I wish him and his family all the best we will be waiting...best year of his career huh. I'm willing to bet if he comes back he'll have an even better one with the vikes.

The Vikings are handling the situation really well. They are giving him as much time as he wants, while the Packers wanted a decision fast. Props to the Vikings. I hope he comes back

Like I've said before Brett should take his ball and go home, the only problem with that is he doesn't have the ball anymore, it was one of the 317 INT's.

Nope, Brett's only pass in Atlanta was deflected and he caught it himself for a 4 yard loss haha.

WRONG- what you just described was Brett Favre's 1st pass as a Falcon! His last pass WAS an interception!  Brett Favre went 0 for 4, for 0 yards, and 2 interceptions as an Atlanta Falcon!   The only completion was to himself but because it was behind the line of scrimmage it was never counted in his stats as a pass- it went down as a sack against him!   http://www.nfl.com/players/careerstats?id=FAV540222

Why would it taste sour? From the beginning of the year, I said that Favre would cost the Vikings in the end with a huge interception. Anyone who has been around the site for a while knows this. And I was absolutely right... so what do I have to be sour about?

They made the playoffs the previous year without Favre. And if anything, the refs favored the Vikings for most of the game. So that wasn't really an intelligent comment. Just my opinion.

You maybe right about the Vikings might not making the playoff without Farve, but wrong about the losing Farve threw the INT to cost the team the game, if he wasn't such a gunslinger maybe he would have different results.

You're wrong. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you, but you're dead wrong. It was indeed a catch. Regardless, the calls were all going in favor of the Vikings throughout the entire first 3 quarters.

In other news, IF BRETT FAVRE DIDN'T THROW THAT INTERCEPTION, THE VIKINGS MAY HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO WIN. It's that freaking simple.

I loved that last throw....loved watching him cry....but if I  fu**ed the Vikings out of a Superbowl that way I would have cried too.
I also liked when he "was injured"..limped off the field, next throw was a touchdown pass he was jumping around like a rabid kangaroo...then few passes later was the interception.. limping again. Hypochondriac.

It may have been his best..but because of him the Vikings are not playing Sunday.

I hope he is done... Most of my pre-season football predictions were wrong this year... But i did hit the nail on the head about Favre and the Vikes. I said he would make a huge mistake late and cost the vikes something big and boy was i ever right!!!

Brett Favre is such a great quaterback! I'm so happy he came to the Vikings. He loves the game so much, I hope he comes back to play this next season. If Favre comes back I know the Vikings have a great chance to go to the Super Bowl next year!!!
#29 | 1717 days ago

I think he'll play until he either physically can't play or wins a super bowl

Vikings could have and should have went to the Superbowl this year....Why werent they there???.....FAVRE!
#31 | 1714 days ago

I think he might play till he gets a major injury, OR he makes it to the SB.  He's addicted to playing!!!  So I believe it might take a doctor to tell him, "No more Farve, you have to stop playing"..... he's not horrible for 40 yrs old, but, he also had a great running game to fall back on.

HEY!!!!! Its not Favre's fault it is more like adrian petersons because he fumbled it at the 2 yard line AGAIN!!!! If he could of held on to the ball we would off went to super bowl and won it!!!! But Favre did his job he threw to the person he saw open and the Saints players got there to quick quicker than all of us expected!!!!!!!

False. Any intelligent football fan knew that he had no business whatsoever making that throw. It was terrible, and broke every rule of sensible QB play.
