Will the Lions play Super Bowl XLV against the Colts? (Edited 01/27/10 04:01PM by Scott)
There has been some discussion regarding a potential opponent for the Detroit Lions. Will their opponent be the Colts or the Raiders? Based on my foolproof method of winner determination, all I can disclose at this time is that it will NOT be the overrated and much-detested Steelers, whose lucky star has set for the next couple of decades.

Nothing, just trying to be funny.  It is kind of a strange poll though, lol.  But then again, I'd probably hope for the same thing too if I were a Lions fan.  (But, the Raiders too?  Seriously?)

I don't even understand what this poll is about?

Hi All,
The poll is about staying positive, even when our team is having a couple of decades of seasons in the pits.
This is a year of change, and when things change ENOUGH, teams begin to win again. This is the year of the
LION. The Colts are already doing well, but it could happen that the Raiders also feel that change...Go with me
on this. My philosophy is that when the economy is in the tank, the teams have got to pick up the slack. Since
the first is definitely true, why not the second? It's all about change for the better.

My sources say Lions and Colts, and that's what I believe will be on the programs a year from now.
To put this another way, if the Lions can win enough games to be in the Super Bowl, America
can put everybody back to work. This great nation can do both!

See y'all in Texas!

If you really feel that way, then you better place your Vegas bets on that before the season starts. Because I guarantee the odds will be very, very stacked against the Lions even making the playoffs. You would probably become a millionaire if you bet some money on a Super Bowl appearance. (Not that I'm advocating gambling, but just saying here -- it's a long shot.)

I live in Vegas and I'd say (from my experience) the odds of Lions winning the Superbowl will probably be 2000-1 , winning the NFC Championship probably about 1000-1, and making the playoffs probably 400-1.......

Yah, can't even believe I responded and logged in but whatever.  The Lions won't even be in contention.  They need to have an identity and that needs to be defense.  The offense will do just fine with little attention.  With the focus on offense last year in Stafford/Pettigrew they need to simply focus on the pass rushers and backfield on defense.  If they can draft towards this they can slow the bleeding in these high scoring losses.  Oh yeah, maybe a free agen RB or lower pick in the draft.

Your sources?  Is the NFL taking a page from pro wrestling and deciding the outcome of games before the season even begins?

St Louis needs a QB and will take one with the first pick.  That leaves Suh for the Lions and they are on their way!

No, not at all. Just a friendly kitchen table discussion among serious fans.
Thanks for asking, though. Do you think that would help the program?

None Of These Teams Will Be in the Super Bowl Next Year, This is actually Funny. The Only Thing Guaranteed is That The Lions Will Play On Turkey Day
