Facebook...OR Not to Facebook...is the question???
What do you use Facebook for??? So many want to get closer to old class mates, Some look at it as a dating tool and others are just rudely snoopy, They just want  to click in on what you have been doing and who you have been sleeping with over the past 20 years. Is it safe? do you trust your kids on Facebook??? How many friends do you have on your page????

I use it, to keep up with family out of state and old friends from high school and Uni. I'm not obsessed with the site, but I go on a couple times a week for a few minutes.
#3 | 1205 days ago

I'm on there like most people to catch up with friends and family across the country.. mainly so I don't have to talk to them on the phone

#4 | 1205 days ago

i "use" it to keep up with folks, but i've been on it since 2004 and got sick of it years ago. i have been on it about three times in as many years.
#5 | 1205 days ago

Just went on because my family and relatives are there but now I enjoy checking the "chicks".

I avoid FARTBOOK at all costs. Much to the chagrin of my Family and Friends.

I use it like another e-mail account. Plus I like having little status update / flame wars with my 11 year old nice. 'highest of comedy.

I check it out a couple times during the week, just to see what some of the relatives and friends are up to.

It's a good deal...I enjoy it.  Being in the military, it's been vital to keeping up with folks back home.

I got started on the myspace/facebook deal back in 07 just to keep an eye on my oldest who lived and breathed thru her myspace page.

Most everyone I went to school with or played football against or ....is on there it seems, along with all the folks I've played ball with in the military.

550 something friends I think I don't know for sure...there are a good 100 or so I'm not real sure who they are or how I know them.  My wife jokes that there are some folks you just don't need to 'keep in touch' with. :)

The gov and private detectives are more than happy some many people jumped on Facebook and Myspace. It saved them from having to do the work. They have quite a few "Dossiers" available now and ready for prosecuting. I myself, have never used either. This is bad enough, and my blogs are bad enough. None for me, thank you.

I started my Facebook account to find friends from my High School, Portage Northern HS, in Portage, Michigan.
I have also found a buddy from my time in the Navy, aboard the USS Edward McDonnell(FF-1043).
I only check it every now and again. I also have a Myspace and Twitter accounts, but i have not been there in a very long time.

Same here - it's not as easy to keep in touch with friends and family when you (and a good bunch of them) are in the military. People move so much, change email addresses, change phone numbers, etc. that the social networking thing has been great. Not only that, but I've been back in touch with a lot of people I really miss from back home that I either worked with or went to school with that I thought I might never see again. Good people that we just lost contact.

I have something like 300 friends on there. The only ones that I don't know personally are the people who have added me from here. The rest are friends and family from home, school, work, or our Coastie pals.

I'll do you one better, sis ... I've neved had one, nor WILL I ever have one.  Don't have MySpace either.  None of it.

First of all, I'm far too nosy and have an addictive personality.  I would be on it for 17 hours a day rifling though everyone's business ... it would be like one big medicine cabinet for me to snoop around in.  Looking at everyone's friends, and their friends, and so on and so on   ... no thank you!  I have enough vices to keep me occupied without adding to them.
Also, anyone who I want to keep in touch with from high school/college/the present, I already DO keep in touch with.  Anyone that I wanted to have my contact info received it from me ... if you didn't get a way to contact me, there's probably a reason.

I don't have  a facebook account because I have two more like that in different sites but I never go there, I openned those accounts because some friends invited me and I din't want to be rude, but then new people start to add u as a friend and u don't even know them. Conclusion I'm about to cancel both accounts because they don't look interesting to me, if I want to be in touch with friends or relatives I use regular e-mails, msn or the phone, that doesn't bother me.

Thanks, it is true. They admit it. As someone posted, you don't have to worry if you don't do anything wrong. Well, there are perverts and jealous people that can walk up to one of your family members and say " Hi, I know your uncle sam, he sent me to get you, there's been an accident, come with me". Or make up a lie to break you up with a significant other or anything of that manner. I know, I have seen it happen. I am a researcher and was a federal officer. I am well connected to the police, Fema and the US Marshals, I have worked as a private contractor for the gov in the past and still use my skills for othe agencies. There are soo many obscounders running amock, and soo many bench warrants issued and not completed that you have to follow this stuff. Don't worry about onlin bravado and pride, this is a forum to share knowledge or RUMORS. Mine happens to be knowledge and not many people except what I have to offer.
