Just like with everyone else, it all depends on the person.
Some of them are good people, while others are constantly spouting their religious views to anyone who will listen.

I'm fine with them, to each their own. But the problem lies when they start pushing their beliefs on to me. I have my beliefs and they have theirs, this country was built on the onus that everyone is free to have their own values and beliefs, if I choose not to agree with someone Else's then LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Totally agree, all I ask is people respect my beliefs as I respect theirs.

I consider myself a Christian.  I'm a Southern Baptist, born again Christian lady.  That does not mean that I go around preaching all of the time, and GOD knows I'm a sinner!  I've seen people who claim to be Christians that do not act like they are, but you never know what is really in someones heart.

If someone comes to me and wants to hear about the Bible or has questions I will more than gladly talk with them.  However, I'm not going to push the subject on anyone just to say I'm a Christian!

That is one hell of a question.
I have bad experience with people of all religions and good as well.
I think it can become addictive for some folks, who give up vices and turn to Christianity in place.
Whatever it takes to get your life straight, and live a decent  life, go for it.
Just don't shove ANY religious beliefs on to other people.
Like Gina said, if someone opens the door for you to speak about your beliefs (whatever they may be) take that opportunity to share them, and see where it lands.

I feel the same way. i enjoy talking to people about the Bible and God, but i dont and wont push religion on people, to me that turns more people off than anything and if they have a question i'll try to answer it to the best i can.

Thanks, but my post was made in jest like Kammi's was.

I agree that from the sports end, religion doesn't gel too well. However, in a place like the Locker Room, it's open for discussions that strays away from sports - religion, and politics for that matter, are usually tops for off-topic discussion.

For those that don't argue religion, usually just skipping over a poll, like this one, that is directly asking about a certain religion - works wonders.

Christians are fine as long as they keep their view points to themselves.. The "Born Again Christians" are very annoying. They think they know everything there is to know.. I consider myself a Christian, but I don't go around telling other people how to live.. It is not my job to judge people... And it is no one's job to tell me how to live my life....

On a serious note though, i have lost my faith over the last 5 years or so. My sister is a pretty strong Christian, she gave me a book to read about Jesus and God or whatever. I started to read it and about 25 pages deep i up and threw the book across the room in anger. Anger that i couldnt believe what i was reading, thinking how fake and fantasy the whole thing sounds. I was angry at myself because i want to believe, because who the hell really truely knows what happens to you when you die. I am afraid that if there is a hell, i will go to it. Why cant there just be nothingness forever when you die, the lights go out...and its just over. Why do we have to go to a Heaven or Hell, i dont want either, i just want nothingness.  Im not a bad person, i dont steal, i dont lie, i dont even use the Lords name in vein. Why should i go to hell, if there is a God out there, he knows who i am and knows that i have lived a decent life. Why would he send me to hell, if i do ever meet him, i hope he will forgive me for my betrail for i shall plead ignorance. Thats all i can hope for at this point in my life.

as far as spreading the Gospel goes...i guess i think thats part of being a Christian...

And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. Sorry, well here is what my advice would be to you. Your asking why should God judge you and send you to hell if your a decent person? I mean I bet you could list a bunch of people who deserve to go to hell for horrible things that they have done, while like you said " Im not a bad person, i dont steal, i dont lie, i dont even use the Lords name in vein". The one thing about it though is that we are all destined for hell. We are ALL sinners. Christians and non-Christians. No one is righteous before God. No one. Yet with Christ we are saved. Here is the thing, I don't want to force you to believe anything that you don't want to believe. So if you want to know more/ hear more then email me at Davis.Wetherell@gmail.com. But like I said, if you don't then I won't force it at you.

I haven't read but the first few of the posts, so if what I say seems like a recurring statement, please excuse me.  When it comes to certain groups, there are those who few can take "blanket perceptions" about their nature.  Granted, the KKK, New Black Panthers, The Brown Berets, and other extremist elements such as the Jewish Defense League chapter that interrupted from bombing a Mosque in L.A., and obvious terrorist groups (foreign or domestic) are easy.  However, when you're talking about more mainstream organizations and the people that are a part of such, it becomes less and less defined for the various groups, and more inter-personal with the consideration of individuals and their perspectives and actions thereof.

There are some heathens for which I would jump in front of a bullet (...and yes, I am that fast....), and others I of whom I wouldn't let lick the sweat off my genitalia if they were dying of thirst.  The same goes for Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Shinto, and Pagans as well.  Just my two copper pieces--and an unsavory visualization (sorry, I wanted to make an impact with my perspective).
