Musical Moments
No, this isn't more or Kramer's Music Trivia, it's a different idea altogether...although this does tie in with song lyrics.  You're not guessing songs on this poll.  Instead, you're telling us if there's a part of a particular song that you absolutely love.  Is there a specific song that you like it, you love it, you want some more of it?  Is it a musical break like a solo, or a line from a song that really moves you, maybe even moves you out of your chair from laughter?  Spill it below and tell us what the song is, and what part of that song you just can't get enough of.

I have a ton of stuff that 'moves' me. I'm a sap for love songs. I love Motown. Marvin Gaye singing 'Let's Get it On", and a whole lot of other singers move me. But a guitar solo, Carlos Santana more than most, can almost be spiritual. Also Stevie Ray, B. B. King, Clapton, and I could go on and on. I love music.

I have a few but my favorite is from the song "Snuff" by SlipKnot

Ooh, my own was banished long ago,
It took the Death of Hope to let you go
.

Led Zeppelin "Thank You"

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
If the mountains should crumble to the sea, there would still be you and me.

I have a ton more but I don't want to ruin the poll for other people

There are so many that I couldn't possibly name even half of them.
However, I LOVE the instrumental part (that sampled The Supremes) in "If" by Janet Jackson, mainly because of the choreography from the video/tour.  A dance troupe I was in when I was in college did that song and it's still my absolute favorite song to dance to.

I am not a huge country fan but I do have some country favorites....one being Brad Paisley. I really love his song "When I Get Where I'm Going"------------favorite verse is:

I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy (I think of my dad here)
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
Then I'll hug his neck

This song reminds me of my grandfather.  Rain on the scare crow by John Mellancamp:

When I was 5 I walked the fence while grandpa held my hand

This one reminds me of some friends who own a Deep Sea Fishing Company but come home for the winter:

Thin Lizzy, The Boys are Back:

They were asking if you were around, where ya were, where you could be found.  I told 'em you were still living down town driving all the  guys crazy!

Deborah Cox:

This time I swear I'm through
But if only you knew
How many times I've said those words
Then fall again, when will I ever learn
Knowing these tears I cry
There's probably black butterflies

And spread my wings

music is huge for me, there are so many to mention. here's a few:

wait by alexi murdoch makes me almost feel a warm breeze on me. it's such a comfort song for me

midnight radio by big head todd and the monsters is impossible to listen to without dancing and is best enjoyed by candlelight.

the hard strums in skating away (on the thin ice of the new day) by jethro tull make it hard for me to breathe. they are so powerful!

...and anything in d minor makes me weep instantly

In 2002 while I was dating my future wife we went to see South Pacific at the Widener Auditorium in Green Bay.  Robert Goulet was the star of the show.  When he sang, "This Nearly Was Mine", I vowed to NEVER have to sing that song about the great gal I was with.  We ahve been married almost 7 years now and it has been the best years of my life (another song line).

Deborah Cox has a couple for me...
the dance version of "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" has an instrumental section that sends me to a whole nother place when I'm on the dance floor.  And the entire song turns me into a drag queen.

Also, her song Absolutely Not...
"should I wear my hair in a ponytail....should I dress myself up in Chanel?
Should I measure me by what you think?  Absolutely NOT!!....I live my life for me!"

Old man lying by the side of the road
With the lorries rolling by
Blue moon sinking from the weight of the load
And the building scrape the sky
Cold wind ripping down the alley at dawn
And the morning paper flies
Dead man lying by the side of the road
With the daylight in his eyes........Neil Young

"Until You're Reformed" by Chevelle

Not about to try
Time to please no one
The first and last begins
You mutter, you child

You should ask for more
Tired of being your no one
Fame can’t hurt my soul
You mutter, you child

Leave

This is not for real
Forever pleasing someone
The first and last begins
You martyr, you child
You martyr, you child

Leave

"We raised cotton, corn, a little cane, and kids. You either lived on a farm or wish you did. Jesus always walked close by our side.
Where I grew up, we rode in trucks."
"That's us, haulin' hay in the field with the radio on. That's us, headin' straight into town when the work was done."
Here is the best part of the song....
"We thought tobacco and beer in a can. Was all it would take to be like our old man. But I saw how it made my momma cry. It was huntin' and fishin' and football games. Then it was girls, and everything changed, in our lives, Fallin' in and out of love, we rode in trucks."

The song is DISCO DAZZ by BRICK. There is a flute solo that begins at about 2:31 in the song that is one of the funkiest grooves of all time. Growing up in Cleveland we did a dance called the "Earl Flynn" to this song. Its funny because now when I go out in places outside of the Cleveland area and do the dance everybody thinks it is a new dance. LOL!!!
