A quick turnaround for these two rivals a day after the Olympic Games. For the Red Wings, Team Canada  Head Coach Mike Babcock and Team USA defenseman Brian Rafalski left Vancouver yesterday. For the Avalanche, Team USA forward Paul Stasny returns.
This was once the best rivalry in the NHL. From 1996-2002, these two clubs won 5 Stanley Cups, and every game was a tough, bare-knuckle slugfest with spectacular play from both teams.
The Red Wings need this win to move into 8Th place in the Western Conference playoff standing.
Go Wings.!
