There is something wrong when you see the steroid squad ranked ahead of Willie Mays.
1. Babe Ruth 714  2. Hank Aaron 755  3. Willie Mays 660

Another thing you take into account is how he wasn't credited with some home runs because the ball went foul after clearing the foul pole in fair territory.  Nobody has an exact number, but it's been debated that Ruth may have more home runs than Aaron.

You really couldn't go wrong with any of these guys.  But who wouldn't want to see Babe Ruth hit homers in person?

I've got to think that if Willie Stargel had been around for a whole career, he'd be up there.

I'll take the pure hitters. You know, the non-asterisk folks.

Willie Mays, if he didn't play in the old Polo Grounds at the beginning of his career, or windy and deep Candlestick, would have had about 850 homers on balls he hit that didn't get out but would have in other parks.

another person to add to the list is Josh Gibson of Negro Leagues
