Who is your favorite comedian?
I saw Gabriel Iglesias (a.k.a. "Fluffy") live last night and had a blast.  It had been a long time since I was to a live comedy show and I forgot how much my face could hurt from laughing.  Who is your favorite comedian?

Carlin was the greatest (granted, not quite as funny in his last few specials, but still one of the best, overall).
Currently, it depends for me.  I'm into Margaret Cho, Kathy Griffin, and Lisa Lampanelli at the moment.
And, of course, how could I not mention Mooser ... he cracked me up.

Eddie Murphy is still my choice, I can forget about the past damn-near 20 years because Delirious and Raw were/are THAT good.

Robin Williams is my #2, Carlin 3rd.

Chris Rock's Bigger and Blacker is my single-favorite stand up appearance (What's two plus two? Jello).

So many on the list are great in their own way, as well as some of the above named.  Some of my favorites also include Tim Conway, Rita Rudner, Jeff Foxworthy, and Paul Rodriguez (and the rest of the Latin Kings of Comedy).     Robin Williams (who was named above),  John Cleese  (and the rest of Monty Python).

There are so many funny people out there.

no real order but Richard Pryor (classic), Bernie Mac (always makes me laugh), Cedric the Entertainer (because he is actually an entertainer), Katt Williams (what can i say, I've seen every standup and if i watch his entrance to American Hustle (not the whole movie just when he comes on stage) and It's Pimpin, Pimpin one more time, the dvd will probably warp), Lewis Black, Robin Williams, and sometimes Mike Epps...oh and Martin Lawrence.

it's a toss up between johnny carson's wholsomeness and george carlin's awesomeness.

when i hear a comedian these days who doesn't have to resort to swearing, sex or bathroom shtick, i call it carson comedy and it makes me respect it all the more. seems like these days you have to have a combination of those and to me, that's just too easy.
Johnny Carson

Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Steve Martin are the top three for me, and they are in no particular order.  The best ones can make you laugh, while get you to think at the same time.  Chris Rock is number 4 right now.

MItch Hedberg is one of my all-time favorites, Carlin of course, and Eddie Murphy is hilarious stand-up. I love Gabriel Iglesias too; I tried to get tickets to go see him and they were almost $300 (it was sold out but Stub Hub had some available). The first stand-up show I ever saw was Chris Rock and I absolutely loved him. I still think Jeff Dunham is pretty funny, and if I had to pick one of the Blue Collar guys, I prefer Bill Engvall.

Another guy I find hilarious but you'll never see him in a show to my knowledge (he writes articles and books) - Patrick F. McManus. He has all sorts of crazy outdoors stories based around where I grew up, so I find him and his stories hysterical.

For me, it's Bill Engvall.  I love his "Here's Your Sign" stuff.  There are many others I enjoy, but Bill is my favorite by far.

I would have to go with the one person who made me laugh until the day he died, Richard Pryor. He could even make a joke about his drug habit and it too was funny as hell.

None of these.  Joe Piscopo made this list but No RODNEY DANGERFIELD, are you serious?   Unbelievible!!   I also loved Dennis Miller back in the mid 90s-early 2000's.  And for the record Letterman SUCKS!!   Jay Leno is way funnier!!!!!!!!

Come on wyldePHX (+) ,  repect others opinions of their own personal fav comedians.  Why do you gotta be like that?  Not everyone is going to like the same comedian (even the ones you like),  be real.

Come on Astromike07 (+), there's an "other" option right at the bottom, pick that and include your own opinion of who YOUR favorite is, just like everyone else.

DUH! You should know Rodney gets no respect - no respect at all! He went to the doctor and he said he was overweight, when Rodney asked for a 2nd opinion, the doctor said he was ugly, too.

Robin Williams-he might have stolen material from other people, but he certainly did the material better than the comedians he stole it from.

Jello).

Current comedians: Gabriel Iglesias, Christopher Titus, Bill Engvall, Russell Brand
Those are some of my favorites and I like Wanda Sykes.

One I haven't seen on the lists was Cheech & Chong. Their albums and movies were off the chain.

As the creator of the poll, it was hard to list the comedians...I tried to think of a lot of them....and there are some GREAT ones added...I love comedy, whether in the movies, stand up or life in general...

Blue collar guy for me would have to be Ron White The story he tells about the airplane going down is pretty dam funny

I'm surprised no one mentioned Craig Ferguson.  I stay up to watch him every night.  He cracks me up.
