It is that time once again to ask DR. KARRI anything? 2
Horribly***** off wrote me and told me that she was really peeved off that she keeps getting these telemarketers calling all the time... Well Trudy, i might have a response that you are wanting to hear. I would go buy a fog horn and put it up nice and close to the phone. I hope this helps and it is OK to be Little p***** once in a while.....Please feel free to send Horribly P***** off any of your suggestions, i am sure she would appreciate it....

All she has to do is register with the National Do Not Call List Registry online.  Then if they call her they are breaking the law. I did it several years ago and it is very rare that I get a telemarketer to call.  If I do, I tell them I'm on the list, and I don't hear from them again.

If i wasn't so lazy i would put my number on the do not call list but then i would hardly ever get a call.  I suggest  they buy a whistle and blow it into the phone.

I was actually a telemarketer in college. I was very good at it because I have NO soul. The local Seminole tribe actually had a song about my evil prowess. I. Was. Legend.

(Waste their time, then tell 'em not to call back. it's a volume thing for the good ones. Working in a boiler room is a numbers game. it's about the most calls per shift, because there is always a percentage of the "leads" that will bite. it's the same principle as spam, except they have to spend "time" talking to you. I think there is also some kind of "do not call" list now that didn't exist back in my day.)

I always check my caller-id before answering the phone, if the area code doesn't belong to my city I don't pick it up, I've added my family and friend's numbers so I rarely get one of those calls.

I'm on the Do not call for my home address, but at work, I'm always getting the robo-dialers.  Pressing #2 to be removed never works, and when you press #1 to speak to someone, they always hang up when I ask to be removed.

My favorite thing to do now, is get the live person on the phone, then act like I had picked up the line to speak with one of my customers, trying to sell our product.   "Hey, Mike, yea I've got 3 boxes of those cards, they are $285 per box...how many would you like?".    Throws them off for a bit.

I like the calls where they try to sell you bogus copier toners. When Ithey ask what model I have I tell them I have  the 2010 HP FU

Ooooh  I haven't had one of them for a while now.  I used to tell them hang on, the copier was in another room or one floor up, and had to go get the number, could they wait a moment on hold.  Once they were waiting for a few minutes, I would get back on and ask them what model they had on file for us, since most of the time they were "updating" their records.   After that they would always hang up, after I had wasted some of their precious calling time.
