My heart belongs with the Rays, but my head goes with Boston's pitching. The Yankees aren't as good as they think they are!

I think its boston who is likely not as good as they think they are and not quite the Yanks , boston without a doubt has downgraded offensively and even with good pitching they have some question marks on the back end of the rotation. The yankee's on paper are just as good as last season and adding on some with Granderson and Vazquez there is a chance they could even improve some.

Boston isn't going to be as good as they were last season on Offense and that will translate into them dipping into their bullpen more frequently to protect much smaller leads than they are used to! The Yankees improved their team in both the pitching area and team Defense with the additions of Vasquez and Granderson, and they also bolstered their depth with Nick Johnson at 1st base (to spell Teixeira) and Winn in the Outfield!   Once again, the Yankees and Red Sox will finish 1-2 respectfully in the A.L. East.

This is probably the easiest division to call.

It is foolish to not pick the Yankees and their $200 million payroll.  And then there is the Red Sox with their huge, but not as huge as the Yankees payroll.

After that, the quality of the teams fall off the cliff.

Rays may be a bit better as they were hit by the injury bug last year but they will not compete against the money teams.
The Jays actually got worse.
And the worst team in the AL did not improve in the off season one bit.

I think the Yankees could fall out of it. $200 million does not guarantee you anything. The postseason showed that their pitching is suspect and their bullpen doubly so until they reach Rivera. I'm not saying I'd bet against them, but I'm not ready to anoint them either.

The Rays will win the wildcard, after the Yanks win the division.

I agree with the "Boston's offense is not good enough" comments. Pitching can only win u so many games, at times, the pitching isn't gona show up and u need ur offense to come thru. Boston's offense doesn't scare me at all as a Yanks fan. Besides, what happened to Boston's "MIGHTY" pitching last year in the playoffs??? I believe it was Mr. PapelBUM who was on the mound when the Angels scored those runs in the 9th. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

True...  The money does not guarantee anything.  But it sure increases the odds in their favor by quite a large margin....

And I can't wait til dragon gets a hold of your belittling of the Yankee pitching staff.  It will be almost as if you were denouncing his God!

I'm not drinking Yankee cool aid.

Bwahahaha!!!!  Hilarious!

they were off the charts last year during the summer they were truly uncharitable they were a knockout punch not even Mike Tyson seen.

You see...  This proves you are under the "Yankee Kool-ade" influence.   The Yankee pitching was their weak link.  After CC their starters were average to sub-par.  And remove Rivera from the pen and it was an absolute nightmare!

You don't want them to have a down year.

Everyone except Yankee fans want them to have a down year.  In fact, we want them to spend a billion dollars and STILL suck.

Do you understand why we don't take you seriously. You were wayyy OFF on your own team. If you look at the preview I wrote for the Rays I was almost DEAD ON!

I can't wait to see texas beat the skanks in the alcs..they are so cocky and arrogant just like the ny fans are as well..the last time they were in texas last month they were swept and two blown saves by rivera what a beautiful weekend that was to see..they are all worried and talking about cliff lee but forget they have other good starters on the rangers team..texas just beat the team withthe best record in the american league and all 3 games were in the opponents ballpark....GO SOX!
