Do you think McNabb will be traded? (Edited 04/08/10 05:40PM by Scott)

Andy Reid has said Donovan McNabb is his starting quarterback heading into the 2010 season.

But the trade rumors around the team's quarterback situation have persisted. And now Reid says offers are being made for all three of the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterbacks -- McNabb, backup Kevin Kolb and former Atlanta Falcons starter Michael Vick.

People are entertaining us with offers. Nothing's been done, but we're evaluating all of them. That's the truth.

-- Eagles coach Andy Reid

Reid said Tuesday and again Wednesday that the team is entertaining and evaluating the offers, according to published reports in Philadelphia. He has declined to offer details about the proposals.

"I'm listening [to offers] out there," Reid said Wednesday at the NFC coaches media breakfast, according to Philly.com. "I'm not saying I'm doing anything. But we're keeping our ears open.

"I don't worry about [what other people are saying]. It's an evaluation process right now," he added, according to the Web site. He also said he could see all three quarterbacks remaining with the team.

McNabb responded to Reid's statements via his blog at yardbarker.com.

"My position hasn't changed. I've said all along that I would like to win a Super Bowl and finish my career in Philadelphia," McNabb wrote. "I understand the situation well and just hope whichever direction the Eagles decide to go in, they do it quickly. I think that would be best for me, Kevin, Michael, the Eagles, and any other teams involved.

"No matter what happens, I've already begun preparing to have an outstanding season in 2010."

Reid broached the subject of trade offers on Tuesday.

"This is the truth: Our three quarterbacks are Philadelphia Eagles," Reid said Tuesday, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. "People are entertaining us with offers. Nothing's been done, but we're evaluating all of them. That's the truth. There's not a lot really going on other than entertaining."

Reid would not address the team's specific plans, according to the report, but said that from a coach's standpoint, the Eagles are in an enviable position.

"There are coaches who dream to be in this situation," Reid said, according to the Inquirer. "I'm not in any hurry to get rid of any of them. Have people talked? Yeah, people have talked. Have we listened? Yeah, we're in the process of listening. The bottom line is if I have all three of them, that's great."

Reid has stated and reiterated that McNabb is the team's starter headed into 2010. But trade rumors have not died down as the team's supporters debate whether it would be best to stick with McNabb, who has brought the team to five NFC Championship Games and a trip to the Super Bowl, or turn the page and give Kolb the keys to the offense.

He would probably love to stay in Philly because I can't think of anyone that would want him...But that is just my opinion. And he sure is NOT going to win a Super Bowl...

Contract & salary cap
Age
Vick will probably put more butts in the seats and adds the running dimension that McNabb can't do as much of anymore.

Personally I like McNabb vs Vick    but I think the Eagles will go with Vick

I don't see a lot of teams that would want McNabb , I say give Kolb his chance and draft a college QB .

I HOPE the Eagles DO let McNabb go! I would love to watch that team just fall apart- which it WILL if they let McNabb go!  Sorry folks, I'm a Cowboys fan and would absolutely LOVE for the Boys to have to face a scrub QB like Vick instead of a perrenial Pro Bowler like Donovan McNabb!  But honestly, I can't see the Eagles making that kind of FOOLISH MISTAKE anytime soon.....

McNabb will never have a higher trade value...I hope Eagles keep him so Dallas can continue kicking them

The latest rumors are that they are in negotiations with the Rams. This will never happen though, since the Rams would then pass on Bradford with their #1. Detroit and Tampa already have a young QB, so Sam would wind up being taken by their division rivals Washington with the 4th pick.

I must be one of the few Eagles fans that actually still likes McNabb.  He gives us the best chance to win a Super Bowl now, and I think having Kolb as the starter means we will have a couple lackluster seasons before we even become legitimate contenders again.  Nothing against Kolb, I think he will do fine in the long run, but he just does not have the experience yet that the veteran McNabb has; and I just can't seem to get excited yet about hearing the phrase: "Kevin Kolb, Eagles' starting QB."  I do think that McNabb's trade value will never again be as good as it is now, so if the Eagles do decide to trade him now, hopefully we can get some great talent and/or picks in the deal.  As for Vick, he has the experience as a starter, but I just can't see him in that role again.  He can serve well in a wildcat-type formation or any type of trick play, but I don't see much more for him.

I am amazed at Reid's comment about coaches that dream to be in the position that the Eagles are in.  I am wondering what position is that?  Does he honestly think they will have a chance in the 2010-2011 season with the team they have now?  But I have to agree with you on hoping they keep McNabb because the Cowboys have his number and know how to rattle him...Regardless of who the Eagles go with, I don't think they will be a Super Bowl contender..I will be VERY surprised if the Cowboys do not make it to the Super Bowl in 2011...

He should give it up and maybe find a team that's looking for a Quarterback coach...

Let him stay in the not so Brotherly Love of Philly ... so dat D'Boys can really exspouse some Brotherly Love of their own, when they sweep the beagles again.  Times a changin' ... D'Boys ring in the new year winning the Super Bowl in 2011

i think the eagles will stick with McNabb because he still has 1 more year on his contract with the eagles. Also if he does get traded, he would prefer the Vikings only if Farve comes back. If he doesnt, then the eagles would trade for a pick in the draft, which i dont think they will do.

If the Eagles were going to trade McNabb, they should have done so well before now...after a lot of teams have already made their QB moves for this off-season. They lost a lot of the potential market for McNabb's services by waiting.  If they do end up keeping him for the 2010 season, rather than go with Kolb this year, my guess is it will certainly be the last season since his contract expires.

If the Eagles go with anyone over McNabb, I think it will be Kolb...not Vick.

I respect what Donovan did for the Eagles over the past 10+ years, but it is time for him and Vick to both go.

I would love to see it happen, but I don't think it will. No team wants to give up a first round pick for him and the Eagles won't let him go for less.

Adams sure did have a lot of penalties so I think it was time for him to go.. He cost a lot of good plays to be called back. And to me penalties are unacceptable.. Especially with guys like Adams, I just could not figure out how he could be off sides so much.. As far as as Hamlin goes, probably no loss there... I just wish we could get a good field goal kicker... And by the way, just call me Mary....

Lucky for you, your team won't have much of a problem winning their division again this year.

I hope you are right there... I was happy to see he went to Washington.. But then again Washington was not much of a threat. However, I don't think the are yet...I really think the Cowboys will go all the way this year...
