That is NOT my baby!!!
Thirty years ago today,  I was born.  Every year, I get to hear the story from my godparents about how the whole morning went down.  It all began around 4:30 am, when my Mom woke my Dad to tell him it was time to go to the hospital.  Dad asked my mom if he had time to brush his teeth.  She said, "Um, sure."  She also asked him to call the doctor.  He woke up half the city of Louisville dialing wrong numbers (I was a month early, in his defense) before my Mom sent him two doors down to my godmother's house to tell HER to call the doctor and get her ass dressed.  Patsy (my godmother) met my parents a few short minutes later and rode with my parents to the hospital.  I was born in the emergency room as my dad was parking the car.  I was supposed to be a boy.  That coupled with my quick arrival caused my dad's first words in my presence to be "that is not my baby."  Do you have any funny/unusual birth stories to tell?

Well.....I apparently didn't want to come out when my mom was pregnant with me.  She went to the hospital 7 times before I finally decided to come out. The hospital staff all knew my mom and dad on a first name basis by  then. When I finally did decide it was time to make my presence known, my dad almost missed it because he thought it was another false alarm. I was born 15 minutes after he walked into the delivery room.

All I know is I was born at 7:08 p.m. April 8, 1975 in Decatur, Georgia. Exactly one year before (within the same hour) and about five miles away Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's all-time home run record. Also, I was Tuesday's child, but so NOT full of grace.

Happy Birthday  and many more.   There were only two birthdays i cried over.  The first was turning 30 and knowing my youth was gone and the other was turning 60 and knowing my youth was gone.    Wonder if i will feel the same way when i turn 90.

I would like to have a birth story Chuck Norris style, but I think mine is pretty boring. My mom went to the hospital at the right time, push, push, push and then I was out. That's all

And Happy Birthday Christi!!! have a nice one

#8 | 1639 days ago

Your mom is rad.

I have nothing really ... I just know I was born during a snowstorm and was a perfect (and quiet  ) baby.

Happy Birthday Miss Sunshine.

Not much of a story with me.  Except I was born a month earlier than the doctor predicted (My mom knew better), and I was supposed to be a girl (My dad was confident in this fact although a chinese lady working at a restaurant told my mother I was going to be a boy.  She knew by the way I was being carried, and by my mother's face)

Happy Birthday, Christi!! I hope you had the weekend you hoped you would and enjoyed the hell outta that melon drink we were talking about
Also hope you didn't drink any of those flaming things I told you *I* had on my 30th!

My son was born a week late - we were medivacced to a bigger hospital because he was in distress, but once there the Dr removed the labor inhibitor IV and left to go home to sleep for 7 hours.  DJ was born 25 minutes after he left, and I almost actually bled to death because he ruptured an artery on the way out.  The doctor barely made it back to save me.

My daughter was born a month early by emergency C-section and somehow I had developed an increase in amniotic fluid so all the doctors got wet when she was born.

(sorry, tried not to be gross)

 Happy Birthday Christi!

I guess the only story I have is that I was born on July 23rd.  My grandpa, who had died before I was born, would have had his birthday the next day. Apparently some were hoping I'd wait out a bit longer (especially since I would have been his first grandchild).

Happy belated Birthday Christi!!

My mom had C-sections with both my sister and brother, which are usually scheduled 2 weeks before the actual due date.  Back then, once you had one C-section, you had no choice on future pregnancies.  Well...she was due to go to the hospital to have me on August 10th, but when my dad got home from work on the 8th, she was laying in bed eating a peach and complaining of these "Little pains" she had been having all day which were now occuring about every 4 or 5 minutes.  Dad rushed her to the hospital to find out that she was indeed in labor and they had to do an emergency C-section.  She had NO CLUE what labor pains were...and her water had broken like 5 hours earlier (which she also did not have a clue what that was).  The doctors were in shock!  To this day, my parents keep thinking my birthday is on the 10th!!

My Mama told me I was a  Wednesday child. Born at about 8:45 PM and I'm their second child.  My Mama was accompanied at the hospital by Mommy Agnes (actually my Tita) since we all call her mommy my Papa's sister.  My dad was on duty and a member of the US Army then.  My Mama was only on labor for abut 30 minutes and when I decided to see the world they were all happy to see me. My mommy named me Myrna  but Mam wanted for me a name of Maria Lourdes.  Mommy won since she was the one who went to the City Registrar's Office to register me the following day.  Daddy and Mommy wanted that name to be in my family since my great grandma's name was the same.

A Happy Birthday to you Christie Sunshine and  wish you the best.  Hope your added year makes you the best ever.

The story is of my little brothers birth.  My dad was a police officer in Toronto and was working when my mother called him to let him know that it was time for her to go to the hospital.  He is working that night and goes home to pick her up in the police car, he takes her to the hospital and drops her off at the door and a nurse comes to take my mother to the delivery room.  My dad goes and parks his car in the lot and comes in to find my mom and asks the nurse, "Where is the woman I just brought in?"  The nurse replies, "she just went to the deliver room."

She starts walking my father down the hall and she says to him, " Poor woman having to call the police for help and bring her in, some fathers just really don't care for their wives when they need them, do they?"   My dad turns to her and says,  "...it is a shame, isn't it?  Thanks from bringing to my wife.  Have a good night"  And he left her standing there in shock as my mom never mentioned the police officer that brought her in was her husband.
Yes, and here it is.
