I have an 8 year old, and I won't let her watch movies that have this junk in it. I realized they "censored" everything for the children but I don't see anything OK about it. I know it's a "classic", but until she's of an appropriate age, my daughter won't see Scarface (at my house anyway, and she better not see it at someone else's house), she won't act in a play about Scarface, and if her school put on a play with children acting it out, I would be pretty pissed actually that her school was promoting something like that. There are plenty of other "Classics" out there they could act out. I understand you can't shelter your kids forever, but there's only so long that innocence lasts as it is - why rush it?

I saw this on TV today....It's sad.  These kids were made to use a good childhood experience,(To be acting in a play), to learn some profanity, about guns, about the mob, about drugs....and they will now associate those things with their hands open.  I know that they said, "fudgin" and mother fudger".  How do you suppose that they explained the actual word and it's meaning to these children?  The world is going to introduce our children to predators, drugs, firearms, prostitution.  It is that kind of a world anymore.  Why would anyone want to expose a child to such things before it was absolutely neccessary?

OMG...N people wonder why todays children cant tell the differance between right and wrong...This is exactly why kids seem to think that its ok to play with guns and to say words that when i was growing up i would have gotten soap in my mouth for saying...happened once trust me i didnt do it again...but anyway i find it very disturbing that the school allowed the teachers to have the kids put on this sort of production...its just not right

Just wrong,  all the way wrong.  It's teaching like this that is destroying our youth.

it has everything to do with why our world is going to sh*t...here we have a school that allows these students to shoot at other students and use fudged up cuss words....these kids are what 6,7, maybe 8 at the most....this is a very critical age when it comes to learning right or wrong....how are the parents supposed to explain to their kids that its not ok to shoot at ppl if the school they attend is allowing them to do it even if it is with toy guns? If i were to find out that my daughters class was putting on a production of Scarface i would pull her out if that school in a heartbeat. This is wrong, these kids should not have been allowed to preform it, the teachers should not have been allowed to even suggest using this for the preduction!

You cant shelter your kids from the world, and if you try, they grow up to be weird. It is up to the parents to teach thier kids right from wrong. Kids that age already know every cuss word in the book, thats just the way it is. This isnt 1955, and kids arent "the Beaver" anymore. I serioulsy doubt that little Scarface there is now going to start cussing, shooting people and snorting Cocaine becuse he acted in this play. What he MIGHT do though is start acting in more plays and possiably become the next Al Pachino. Give the kids some credit and and believe in them, dont assume they are going to grow up and become hoodlums because of a play.

You know what...im not even going to try and waste my time argueing with you people....there are always 2 sides to every opinion and both sides always believe that they are the right side

For the record if theses were high school, or even middle school kids i would think different...its the fact that these are LITTLE elementary school kids that bothers me

But like i said there are always 2 sides n i just happen to be on the side that thinks this is wrong

This is what the upbringing that make kids become aggressive..very same as the one who attacked the "Q"........those toy guns will come to real guns in very short time .......this is now the moral show and the moral is "Live with power".....

#22 | 1571 days ago

Those kids are so cute in that role, and they can act too! We may be hearing big things from these youngsters in 15-20 years!

But I agree with everyone else that it is immoral and brings cause to concern about parenting and the roles we play on adolescence.

Ummm...i didnt want to reply to everyone, but the world is going to sh*t because of the adults in it, including and especially the parents. Kids will be kids, they dont ALWAYS know right from wrong, but adults in so many different parts of the world with their poor decision making, flawed beliefs, greediness, and overall negligence are f*cking up the world.  Those kids may be misguided but the problem is the guide, right?  i mean my mom wouldnt let me watch eddie murphy's Raw or 9 1/2 weeks when i was younger, i thought she was a bitch...and thats why i was the child. I didnt know any better.

I hope everyone understands that they are good actors...because they are actors.

I understand that the argument of "right or wrong" would still be questioned, but everyone should know this wasn't actually taught at a real school in place of a real education..

nobody is doubting these kids acting abilities tey have tons of potental and will do great in the future.....its the poor judgement in the choice of play that is upsetting....children this young should not be exposed to material such as this...i know we cant protect them forever but like Jess said why rush it?
