I've got hundreds of DVDs that I've never actually watched. I'm sure many of those are relatively unknowns.

I want to say The Warriors is my favorite of the lesser known movies that I have. (though I'm sure plenty here have seen it)

#4 | 1568 days ago

Reign Over Me and Princess Bride are two of my favorite DVD's.

The Journey of Natty Gann (old Disney movie with a young John Cusack), Valley Girl, and Mystic Pizza-----great movies

****I also have The Princess Bride

Under the radar cop flicks I have:
90's: Internal Affairs with richard gere and andy garcia is a little under rated, still good tho.
80's: To Live and Die in LA, still holds up today. Features a young William perterson. lol
70's: The Taking of PELHAM one two three w/ walter mathau. Much better than the recent remake.

I also thought 21 Grams was overlooked because of the success of Mystic River the same year... not really a cop movie tho, but still.

My Mad Max Box set, that nobody but me can touch, it's the only thing I won't include in my will, they'll go with me
#10 | 1567 days ago

I own so many campy/cheesy 70s-80s horror flicks that it's ridiculous at this point.
#11 | 1567 days ago

I have about 5-6 dvds of Mystery Science Theatre 3000...some of the worst movies ever made, but, boy...do I miss that show!
#12 | 1567 days ago

i have entirely too many movies but the oddest one i can think of right now is Creep Show, but i'll have to check.
#13 | 1567 days ago

Four Rooms is an absolute GEM ..it is a movie with one central place (an aging LA hotel) with one central character ( a bellman played by Tim Roth) but is actually four vignettes directed by four different young (at the time they were young lol) directors: Alison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell,  and how about Robert freaking Rodriguez and some guy named Quintin Tarantino

I have them all (including Jason X, despite it being garbage), and all the Halloween movies, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.  Along with some REALLY terrible independent films and corny ass slasher flicks.  We'll have to compare horror film notes one day (I'm not the only horror geek ... awesome).

That movie was a monstrosity.    I kept wondering when it was going to end.
The ONLY good part about it was when the redneck dude called Michael Myers "7 feet of f*cktard".  Now THAT was funny.

Considering my somewhat abstract tastes, I have more than a few movies that are unique: all 8 of the "Hellraiser" movie series and the associative movie "Night Breed", the original "Wicker Man" (1973), The Vikings (1958), 300 Spartans (1961), Beyond the Law, Brian's Song" (1971), and more than several others including my wife's collection of "old" movies like the original "Cheaper by the Dozen", "Belles on their Toes", and "The Quiet Man".

I just recently downloaded all 8 Hellraiser movies. I was a bit disappointed in Nightbreed, I thought the book (Cabal) was much better.

You have excellent taste in movies.

Agreed, the book was definitely better....like so many greats, there was too much detail to put into a movie with any real impact.
