UFC 113*MACHIDA vs. SHOGUN 2*5/08/10 Photo

On October 24, 2009, unbeaten UFC® light heavyweight champion Lyoto 'The Dragon' Machida and challenger Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua engaged in a five round war that divided the mixed martial arts world when the unanimous decision verdict was rendered in Machida’s favor. But now, these 205-pound superstars will settle the score once and for all in the main event of UFC® 113, and both fighters are vowing to take matters out of the judges’ hands, and into their own. The machida fight is tough to call, I was going into that last one thinking shogun was just another man to fill the time cap but he proved lyoto not be the greatest thing since silva. Who knows how that one will go, if Machida doesn't get back to the basics and stop chasing shogun while working on his leg and body counters, he might be able to pull it off. But shogun probably has another great game plan, this one might even go to the ground.

"He proved lyoto not be the greatest thing since Silva."  I've got to say after that crap-hole performance put on last week ... I see nothing to be admired or called "great."  Even if he goes down in flame, I'll still have more respect for Machida than Silva.         P.S.   By the way, .. you have no idea how much it pains me to be on the same side of an issue as Dana White!

Well I meant in terms of fighting skill, I agree that display last week was....I am still lost for words about anderson. But the point remains valid that if he can dance around and act like an idiot in a cage with one of the best fighters in the world...that he's almost unstoppable as a fighter. I have nothing but respect for Machida but my point was that Machida is not as unstoppable in his division as silva has been in his. I am hoping Henderson will come back and face him, or shogun after his match with machida, and in time jon jones. I think any of these three fighters would be able to offer up enough of a fight to spring silva back into reality at least, I think each one of them has a legitimate chance at winning. I can not for the life of me understand what goes through silva's head when he's dominating the fight and then decides to run away for two rounds and taunt his opponent. We might as well bring in Usain Bolt and the two of them can sprint around the ring yelling at each other for his next fight.

We can all be upset about Silva's antics but there is a man out there who will defeat him...and I'm just kicking back and waiting

If I were Dana I would keep his fights off the PPV cards for a while, put him on televised events or just regular fight nights so you don't have people spending 50 bucks to watch him hide behind the referee.

Hopefully Dana will make him actually fight someone who can fight him. Anderson will get his someday and I to will be enjoying every minute of it

Well it's not like he's been dodging anyone in particular, he's fought all the best at middleweight (although I tihnk hendo or sonnen deserved that shot more then the phenom and even more so then demian maia) hopefully, he'll fight shogun or, in a few fights, jon jones.

He will be fighting Sonnen this summer, And I'm not saying that He is dodging anyone, but even you said yourself, he clearly has not been given the proper opponents by UFC.

And Sonnen isn't the answer to that either. I personally think Sonnen is getting way too much credit for his last few performances. He was very impressive, I'm not saying he wasn't, but I don't see him as the one to beat Silva though.

How's that? he pulled off the win in a couple wars with some great guys...it wasn't like a lucky KO...he dominated nate 'the great' who was everyone's big chance to beat silva. So who is the one to beat silva then? he's the top contender for silva right now, that's for sure.

Shogun really needs to win this one because honestly who can say Machida won three rounds in thier last fight?

it's arguable i still think, that one was really close. There have been worse decisions made by the judges. I just hope that this time it's settled clearly.

yeah within the first 20 seconds of the first round I started to get a feeling it would end quickly.

wow, josh koscheck vs paul daley was a disaster haha, first koscheck fakes that illegal knee with his famous acting skills (again) then eeks out his win with paul daley lying on the ground talking crap to him for the last minute and then he sneaks up and punches him in the face (I thought it was hilarious although terrible sportsmanship) then koscheck went on and insulted all of montreal at their favorite sport and one of their top athletes. Although, i havent heard any reports of koscheck having his knee caps broken at the after party...yet

wow the only fight on the main card i was correct on was Alan Belcher. I knew I should've went with Kos instead of Daley. That guy's a douche for doing that. I'm glad Dana cut him from the UFC.

Kos is just as bad, daley's little outburst was insane and he deserves a suspension but a life time ban? I think it over steps the line. Koscheck's little 'performance' and his talking trash during the fight (daley did this also) along with those after fight antics with his interview was all pretty bad. That whole fight was a disaster, that's why I hate when joe silva tries to start these little fights to get fighters to talk a bunch of trash. It leads to more PPV draws and less interesting fights, with these little incidents.

yeah Kos was being disrespectful to the Canadian fans. honestly i think what happened at the end of the last Strikeforce event had an influence on Daley's ban. MMA already gets a bad rap and Dana wants to avoid having something like that happen in his promotion. but that's just my opinion. in reality he was probably just pissed off at the time and he just reacted quickly to something bad that happened. i think he might give Daley another chance if Daley kisses ass. cause didn't he say Tito Ortiz would never fight in the UFC?

true, although it's a little hypocritical because there were no consequences for nate diaz and he got jake shields under contract after that incident in nashville.
