i am still going with Jamarcus Russell, but after seeing those recent pics, i have to say Heidi Montag probably is one of the biggest busts of recent days...

Man, it's hard just to pick one WR the Lions picked.  I would have to say Charles Rogers because of all that hype and comparing him to Randy Moss.  Someone needs a boot to the head for that choice!

That would be Matt Millen!!!

its hard for me to say that any one who makes it to the highest level is a bust. they made millions of dollars, played on a level that only 1 in a million get too. if they made your list there famous so i can see only positives. maybe the "bust" is the person who set there expectations so high. thats why i never listen to the hype. the so called experts are wrong half the time. they will tell us who is great but they never seem to admit when there wrong. they'll just move on to the next guy! but i use my own eyes and i try to wait until they have earned credit before i give my approval or diss them.

JaMarcus Russell, why he's guaranteed 5.5 million a year (out of 10 million per season overall), when he can't even throw a screen pass? Everybody saw it coming though except for the team's scouting system and Mel Kiper of course.

He's my pick for worst offensive bust that isn't a QB of this decade. There have been too many lousy QBs taken first overall in the past 12 drafts (including today's).

JaMarcus Russell by far in my eyes. Funny though that I personally CALLED THIS when he was drafted- maybe I should apply for a job in the Raiders War Room- LOL!   Russell had ONE GOOD SEASON at LSU, but it was more the TEAM than him. His mechanics were horrible and he was very inconsistant- but people turned a blind eye to the actual plays being MADE by his Wide Receivers and NOT him.  IMHO, Tim Tebow will follow in his footsteps (maybe having a wee bit more success) as being a HUGE bust as well!

Matt Millen should be booted in the head, but I'm sure there are many more people in that organization who should also see that boot!  I mean, how do you pick a WR for that many years straight!?!?!

Pacman Jones is a bust as just being a human being!  That is another poll somewhere.  lol

JaMarcus Russell. He had all the makings of a great NFL quarterback and he went where good quarterbacks go to die: Oakland.

Yes, and you have a good point!  He has talent, but he has wasted it all.  I'm sure he will get another shot like so many players do and I wish him the best.  Everyone makes mistakes, some people make them over and over again, but as long as that person learns from it and grows...it balances things out.

At least the Broncos only wasted a 3rd round pick on that convict.

Any player that is a top 3 pick and never makes a Pro Bowl appearance during their career is a bust, with few exceptions.

hmmm..I think Ken Stabler& Jim Plunkett might disagree with that statement...

TERRELL!

Russell played on bad OAKLAND teams and his confidence was shot!  I'd like to see what he can do with a fresh start before I rule him as a bUST!

I think anyone selected first round by Matt Millen fits at the top of this list. Anyone looking in on Jamarcus Russell should not have been surprised. Many Raider fans knew that he would not fit in Al Davis's coachy-go-round.

I concede those two to you, and even throw in Daryle Lamonica and Rich Gannon for good measure. However, it's time to name the hyped names in Raiders' quarterback history that flamed out in that system. Here goes: Jay Schroeder(gave up all-pro guard Jim Lachey for him), Todd Marinovich, Jeff Hostetler, and Dan Pastorini. Don't get me wrong, the Raiders have a storied organization filled with ferocious defensive players from Ben Davidson, Jack Tatum, Howie Long, Chester McGlockton, and Nnamdi Asomugha. But, a Raiders' quarterback is a bad deal indeed for all but a very special few.

I can never say someone who is still playing, and starting for that matter, is a "bust". Therefore, Alex Smith and Pacman Jones are out. JaMarcus Russell is not so much a bust in my opinion because he wasn't that good to begin with. He should have been a 6th or 7th rounder. Warrick and Williams were both big WR busts (even though Williams is still playing, he is past his prime and I don't see him making a second half of career breakout.) I went with Harrington. There were major high hopes for him and David Carr. Carr got a little firther in his starting career than Harrington though.
