I can't believe no one has listed whom I believe made the most incredible impact in his sport that set the foundation for the evolution of so many others (see selection #1).

1. Jesse Owens - Made a fool of Hitler's "master race" stance in his own capitol.

2. Lamarr Hunt - (What Cactus Jack said)

3. Alan Page - OK, this may surprise people, so I'll explain.  Alan Page is not only one of the greatest Defensive Tackles to ever play in the NFL, he also continued his education during the off-season and is now (still) a sitting Justice in the Minnesota Supreme court.  If there was ever an example for which young athletes should be directed for an example, it is him.

4. Tiger Woods (albeit only from the waist up).  Considering his personal issues, I have a bit of a problem with this selection.  However, I don't believe anyone made as much of a singular impact upon their sport as did Tiger (except arguably Michael Jordan).
