Ummmmmm....it's MY HOME TOWN MOUNT RUSHMORE.

Magic was not only a brilliant basketball player, he's done tons of stuff to help out the city of Los Angeles. Kobe is awesome but he's still playing and has  years to go before he surpasses Magic (besides someone must agree with me since he's statueized in front of Staples right now.....so is Oscar by the way.) Oscar is as "hometown" as you could get....having grown up in East Los Angeles, won a gold medal at the Olympics, and all that other stuff. As for Luc Robitaille-------YOU BET YOUR TEXAS ARSE he's my number 1. He's the greatest scoring left winger in NHL history, a Hall of Famer, and President of Business Operations for the Kings.........not to mention a fantastic human being who has also (along with his wife) done many many things for the Los Angeles community.

As for Jackie Robinson, he's already on my other Mount Rushmore so suck it. And as for Vin Scully----what can I say? I flipp'n love the dude. He's the best, but if I included him, I'd have to include Chick Hearn and Bob Miller because all three of them are Hall of Fame broadcasters.

Lastly, are you from LA? I don't think so------------so leave my Mt. Rushmore the heck alone.

I live in San Jose...

But players who played for Bay Area teams (that I follow)...

1.  Willie Mays
2.  Juan Marichal
3.  Barry Bonds
4.  Willie McCovey

And...  If the Sharks win a Cup...  We can put in Patrick Marleau for Marichal.

Dang Killer... No i amnot from LA, and i am just saying Kobe is better than Magic... Kobe has brought more rings to the franchise than Magic did... You are right it is your Mt. Rushmore, so i am not picking on you i am just saying LA had better athletes that performed better than Luc and Oscar, plus Orel, but once again this is your Mt. Rushmore...

Just because you say "better" doesn't mean it's so.

Besides, I chose athletes who were not only GREAT at the sport they played, but also continue to contribute to the Los Angeles community and their sport.

Phoenix, AZ

Steve Nash (NBA Suns)
Larry Fitzgerald (NFL Cardinals)
Randy Johnson (MLB Diamondbacks)
Shane Doan (NHL Coyotes)

For being the 5th largest city in the U.S., we don't have that strong of a sports history.

The instructions said to use players from the local teams though.
I see your guys are originally from other places, except for Bonds.
